  1. His stuttering and hesitating and changing what he is saying makes it clear he knew he did wrong by his dog who fought to protect what was his, while he went back to bed, not caring if he got killed. He doesn't deserve those dogs, nor any admiration or fame. I curse him.Hew left his most faithful protector to be savaged by coyote after coyote and fight for his life, while he hid and shook in bed. A decent owner would have been out there with that dog. Flashlight and gun in hand and battling with him. He doesn't deserve them. He should do what he's good at. On his knees, whispering to his invisible friend in church.

  2. Knowing this was going on… actually being there when it started… yet not following and staying with the dog? Grab a bat. Grab a broom. Grab nothing but your big boy pants, but GO! Grow a pair and get the hell out there next to that brave dog who is ready to die for your family. Complacency makes me sick. People need to act. Like cops watching a school shooting. Ew, ew, ew. Any grown man with half a head on his shoulders and an ounce of wits can single-handedly destroy upwards of 6 coyotes – unarmed. Pair that with a dog who can obviously kill 8 by himself and nobody would have been injured here except the vermin. I didn't want to find out that Casper's injuries were largely due to human-error, I liked it better when I thought he was alone the entire time.

  4. That dogs bloodline is worth big amongst Livestock guardians !!! Not much you can do when they take off into the woods like that…. It's what they're bred to do and he did his job well…. Get him a couple more teammates ! I have 2 GP/Kangals for 1 goat here in Coyote/wolf/bear country of northern Wisconsin

  5. I'm a total dog lover and this story got pulling at my Heartstrings. I don't think I can love a human being as much as I love my dog I know that sounds crazy but that's how I feel. They will never cheat on you or betray you all they want to do is love you. This actually got me tearing up. So glad it had a happy ending I will pass on the story of Casper to the Next Generation. The dog that stood alone against hordes of devilish coyotes and lived to tell the tale.
