  1. Final Fantasy has moved away from the type of game i enjoy, now i get my fill from games like Octopath Traveller now..
Also im not paying out for a Playstation ( or xbox) still not a console worth buying for my tastes and for that money.

  2. Hey Jeff, if you have hockey sensibilities in the first place, you might enjoy watching lacrosse after the Stanley Cup concludes! PLL (professional lacrosse league) should be fully televised this season – imo it is a lot of fun! (:

  3. I don't usually pre-order, but after I heard that they were so confident in the launch version that it wouldn't need a day 1 patch I immediately pre-ordered. That said, I still got a lot of TOTK left to play and Diablo and Street Fighter is here too. All series I enjoy.

  4. I mean, they turned a traditional turn based / real-time rpg into a fucking character action game. Lol, what!? I get needed to change it up, but damn. If I wanted that, i would play through devil may cry or Bayonetta. It's not a side game, but it's a main line title. I dont.know. I will wait a while for it

  5. YoshiP has mentioned in the past that younger audiences aren’t in the franchise in the numbers they want and the franchise has to evolve to meet those people. The problem is this is the game that’s trying to do that but is also a PS5 exclusive. That sucks for anyone who plays FF on any other system, including PS4.

If this is trying to evolve FF and speak to a broader market and get more people playing FF, get it on more systems. Want a exclusive PS FF? That’s what 7 remake(s) and 14 are for.

  6. I'm don't really agree with the assessment that Capcom haven't delivered on a live service game type before.

They might not have done the battlepass type of live service much, but both Monster Hunter World and Rise have reguarl updates added new content to the games. And while SFV didn't have a good launch offering, they did consistently add content to the game eventually getting the game into a really good state with a lot of content, characters and addtions games core mechanics.

They're quite well practiced at this specific type of content delivery. The real issue will likely be keeping new players investing in a game that really only has intrinsic rewards.

  7. In every other year without a new FromSoft mecha title, or a mainline Final Fantasy by a team of geniuses, Street Fighter 6 would be GOTY. It’s phenomenal on every level.

  8. FF16 is like Deathloop where it's had a lot of trailers but it still doesn't feel like they've marketed it properly. There's also the criticism about the combat but personally I don't think that's an issue, I think the bigger issue is that they've tried doing a lot of new things to appeal to a wider audience like the combat but they haven't gone far enough with it. They've put off a lot of the traditional fans with their changes but they haven't made enough changes to appeal to many new players.
