I don't think anyone has pointed this out, but I really like what feels like the symbolism in this where as the pod is descending, the light from the sun moving away from the skull logo, now only lit by the harsh fire of their descent into quite literally hell.
We all know this guy. The Silent protagonist who learned long ago word would only get in the way. You all deserve respect for diving once but this lad… this is one who brought us home.
