SPEED RUN! No Man’s Sky Freighter Expedition How Finish Fast 2023

This is how to speed run the Polestar Expedition in No Man’s Sky. This expedition is focused on freighters and freighter upgrades. Since this is a replay expedition it is a shorter one, but how fast can we actually get it done? Let’s find out ( spoiler, under 2 hours )

  1. Appreciate the guide. I might just try a speedrun myself in a few days. Are you planning on doing more speedruns of this one live before the event ends, or are you happy with the (admittedly solid) time you got in the vid? Either way, look forward to the next video!

  2. I gotta admit, taking my bumps w/ expedition 7 redux as my 1st expedition ever, this one felt super easy peasy, though I may make a new save just to farm for an awesome freighter and do some more w/ it.

  3. Funny thing about Warp hypercore, I got one while doing a job for pirates. had to shoot transport ships and the core wasnt even the reward. Is it possible? Or did I get it from a player without my knowledge?

  4. I know you don’t use other people’s bases, but the guy who built the farm in the first system helped me a lot, selling those gravatino balls, pearls and buds at the very start of the expedition.

  5. for console players at new game just swap it in setting the auto target to toggel and it works again.😅 you can swap between diffrent controll setups for space auto target in the settings for consoles i recommand toggle due to the few buttons on gamepads.

  6. So the trick might be to try to get 7 (or is it 8?) crystal sulfides whenever you're already underwater. 5 for the Nautilus and 3 for the gravity slingshot drive thingie? That way you can keep the Nautilus for the last rendezvous. See, I've already forgotten how many, which is why these speed runs are so challenging. I guess an enterprising player could create a chart or a spreadsheet to aid with remembering, but then if you try to adhere to it there is too much randomization and even that could slow you down. How DID HG come up with such a complex game? It's amazing even after several years.

  7. Me 17 minutes in: you DO have repair kits, Jason! You can use one for the chromatic metal!
Later: You CAN'T use the repair kit there because you're not repairing!
😀 I bet you can do it in 45 minutes on the streamed one. Cannot wait to see it!
And for those who want it: the exotic was in a pirate system named Taffree near the 4th milestone.

  8. Always find it funny that on a Korvax's freighter that you need to repair the environmental controls. I assume being mechanical, they don't breath. Is the ship too hot to allow the crew to process correctly?

  9. You don't need a scanner room to see Pirate Systems. The Interstellar Scanner, that you installed into Freighter Tech slot at the beginning, is what gives you economy and conflict information about star systems. Also, if the Photon Cannon is broken on a crashed ships you can break it and reclaim some free stuff.

  10. Question, after completing the expedition, is that companion egg available to your other saves? Ive never completed an expedition before so just curious.

  11. I'm not sure how you got three frigate expeditions done in under two hours. That's pretty crazy in my opinion. My frigates even using the lowest distances possible were each two hours long.

  12. If you swim in first person you can loot the crystal sulphide thru the formation instead of aiming at each of the three. First person also lets you loot living pearls without have to shoot the clam open.

  13. If you do use the Hyper Warp Core on your freighter and need to make a new one, from the 5th Rendevous look for the system Kezheni-Exe VII ..it's a vykeen system. There's a small planet Espalas Uzaw that has storm crystals on it.

  14. Jason do you think the Polestar expedition is the prequel to Dreams of the Deep? It seems like there are a lot of references to the same events that took place in Dreams of the Deep mission.

  15. For me, not all of the encrypted navigation data would give me the navigation data I need, so at the part where it was time to use them, I didn't get very lucky and none of the maps I bought with what I had gave me a crashed ship with no pilot. However, I asked the 2 other people in the system with me if they have any spare nav data, and one had 5 he gave me! And I used all of it and they all didn't give me what I needed EXCEPT the last one I used! It took me to a crashed AND abandoned ship. If it weren't for that player, I'd probably still be looking around in different systems for navigation data. Thank you, random player 🙂

    Edit: typo fix
