  1. Xanthosoma is not an Alocasia. They’re genera that belong to the a tribe called Colocasieae of the family Araceae. Plants (alocasia, colocasia, caladium, Xanthosoma, remusatia etc) in that tribe will produce/develop bulbis (corms) to reproduce themselves. That’s why these plants have similarities😉

  2. Great new plants! I recently found a 3” highly variegated paraiso verde at a Canadian Tire in Edmonton. I was SHOCKED. It was only $10 so I had to pick it up. Excited to watch it grow 😄

  3. The Xanthosoma Mickey Mouse is a very nice plant. I find them easier to keep than your usual Alocasias. They can grow really big. The tips have that funny fusion that you are seeing. There are some that are more variegated. Maybe some of your newer leaves will have more variegation. Usual Alocasia care applies, no over watering. But under watering may cause more deformed leaves to form

I’d be very interested in following your tissue culture with you. I love that you do these great experiments and take us along to watch!

  8. My nursery just put aside a philodendron paradise (I call it that) for me. it’s that size. I think the price is $11-16. It’s cheaper because it’s a growing that they did otherwise it’s more when they get them from growers

  9. I’ll be interested to see a video on deflasking your little TC plant, hope it goes well for you anyway.also glad you were able to get your variegated Fydek. Thanks for sharing your new plant delivery.

  10. oooh I'm so excited for your little Spiritus Sancti TC!! I'm holding off on getting one of those beauties until I'm more experienced (or until I can learn how to deal w one from you lol). I do live near the infamous stolen/ chopped mother plant PSS in the San Diego Botanical Gardens though, so I can get my PSS fix for now by visiting her 🙂

PS- very cool that you point out that you supported a plant shop for your video; i used to work for a plant influencer's small business online nursery shop + my coworker managing emails/ DMs said we got "plantfluencer" messages begging us for free plants basically nonstop

  11. Yes please do a video about the tissue culture! 😊

I did want a variegated fridek too, but when I saw the prices I just can't! And I'm also so affraid to loose it!

I hope to find someone who will sell corms, at least it will be cheaper and I will get a fun plant project!
