A great documentary…
Sad truefull is no jobs no$$ no homes no help left to do for self cuz was at candle factory she has no job no home no $$$ no help
I can tell you about a group of senior citizens that has been forgotten, as we scattered to at least three states after The Storm. Our management company did what they could to help us find alternative living sites. But we were in subsidized housing, and there is no Section 8 housing left in Mayfield to handles those of us who ALL lost our homes when our building was destroyed. There was an entire complex in Mayfield that was also flattened. It was bigger. We have heard NOTHING about those folks finding new homes. There is little subsidized housing in Mayfield anymore. And our building, which had 61 apartments is being replaced by, we are told, a building with just 15. I moved to Paducah, and that was the closest I could get to Mayfield—25 miles. I have no car, and depend on a pretty good bus system to get around. Grocery shopping is an interesting proposition . We will need support for years to come. None of us who lived in the area before the storm asked for this. We need to be considered in planning for the future. We deserve it.
In Islam true dreams have influenced the course of history. Hadiths also indicate that Prophet Muhammad SAW stated the importance of Dreams closer to time of Qiyamah. Muhammad Qasim has seen many dreams for the future of Muslim ummah. #MuhammadQasimDreams
Instead of sending money to other countries first , we need to take care of our own people.
Thanks for including Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Bremen Ky. also… You should have put everyone in the update !! Hopkins Co. Resident
My aunt, who currently lives in L’Ville, was a Mayfield native. During the outbreak of ‘74, her dress was blown away along with most of her home and she never saw it again. Fast forward to ‘21, the church she wore that dress in was destroyed the same way.
I have not forgotten Mayfield, Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Bremen Ky, All those affected, I have tried to help and hope that those that can will continue and local and government steps up and do what needs to be done to recover all.
I’m from Wisconsin and it hit home when seeing the little baby girl Oaklynn who died because of this storm. I donated to the family but nothing can replace what was lost ! My heart still goes out !!! I remember and still pray for you and those affected!!! 😞❤️🙏
I survived that tornado ,i was working at the candle factory ,i was under the rubble for almost 3 hours, i wanna ask if somebody knows if it is any shelter here in Mayfield in case another storm is announced ?somewhere you can go like a stadium or a school ?
I hope this state keeps Andy Beshear as our governor. I know he's getting my vote. He's done an amazing job and his hometown even hot hit by that tornado. He did a great job during Covid. It would be a shame if this state votes him out. We'd be working against our own best interests.
