  1. Srg Johnson's spartan 1 ogments could cause him to be bigger but less stable. The next campaign could focus on a spartan civil war, spartan ones tows and some threes agenst ONI 🔫🪖⚔️✨️

  2. Time to move on. Sargent Johnson was a story plot to have something other than a robot interact with Master Chief. He did not really contribute to the fights like the other scrub units. Only difference is as a leader type not in the thick of things to die. They bring him back and you open up the doors for story writers to get lazy. Oh and making him a Spartan 4 would be the most cliche bring back. Magically Spartan 4 Johnson will be 2 times stronger in every way to Master Chief…

  3. It's a neat video, but I'm in the camp of just letting the character rest and go out with a purpose.

It'd be incredibly stupid to bring him back, it'd be a near meaningless death. On top of being a retcon for the sake of memberberries.

  4. I absolutely love Johnsons character, and as such, I think it would be a great disservice to his character if he is brought back. It diminishes his heroic sacrifice. He was there when humanity and the covenant first made contact, and his actions (and therefore his sacrifice) brought an end to the human covenant war. He should remain at peace, at least with concerns to post-Halo 3 timeline games.

  5. I have to disagree. Johnson and Miranda's death, as Bungie realised at the time of Halo 3, make the story feel consequential. Bringing him back, in any fashion, lessens that sacrifice.

Prequel games exploring his role prior to the Halo trilogy absolutely work and make a lot of sense, but him coming back as a Spartan 4 feels a bit Rey Skywalker. Not every UNSC servicemember has to be a spartan, which 343 seems to have missed.

  6. Halo wars 3 during a mission you get a unarthorized transmission on old UNSC frequencies and its mostly garbled but you hear "Dear Humanity" next mission you investigate said signal and when you discover it its Johnson who say "Dear Humanity, took you long enough."

  7. 11:06 right, I'm gonna stop you right there, like no. 343 have done enough damage to the franchise. I just don't trust them anymore. Legendary sci-fi legacy characters like Johnson are actively being butchered left and right these days.

  8. Johnson coming back but as a DLC for Wars 2. where SoF ground teams find find a set of MK1 ADS which he where's in the actual game. but no Spartan Johnson, I am sick and tired of good characters that where regular humans being turned into a Spartans. having Spartans as a pain in the arse to make Elite force was made them cool. when 343 changed and said even a regular soldier could be one it just made worthless and took what made them elite and scarce. ODSTS where far better for the role of they have S4s.

johnson should come back but not as a spartan and not in a way that completely nullifies the scene where gets downed in H3.

  9. I would like to see games based on the human-forerunner war, I think it woulkd be awesome play as an elite acient human soldier during that war, hell they could even do the same as they did with Halo 2, allowing you to play as a forerunner elite servant warrior, whit some flood levels, I would even preorder that game.

  10. 7:48 Also, Linda had his head half melted in TFoR and Halsey, who's not a medic, bring her back to live a couple weeks later on a bunker while under siege and no assistants.

I'm pretty sure Forerunner medicine can do necromancy.

  11. I’ve never enjoyed how Johnson was killed off, it always felt pretty spurious of Marty. If you watch the vidocs, it even seems like Marty just wrote in Johnson and Maranda’s death (Btw, Maranda was especially underdeveloped) just for the sake of dramatics, after reviewing the script and deciding it wasn’t heavy enough.
His recent comments feel like regret for his writing decisions.

I don’t want Johnson back though. I’d find it pretty absurd. That’s not even mentioning the fact that I don’t trust 343i with him. To be honest, that’s mostly because they don’t share the og team’s vision for Halo, so I don’t think they’d even want to do it the way I’d want.
It is pretty that Frank O’Conner of all people made such a remark. The absolute audacity of that man to claim Johnson living would be ridiculous with all the inane rubbish he coated the lore in.

  12. It should be noted…Johnson is a playable leader in Halo Wars 2. His unique quirk is that his units are based around mechs, like Mantises. But the thing is…Johnson’s Hero Unit is Johnson. I mean sure, its Johnson wearing a mech suit not unlike that of a Cyclops, but it is Johnson.

  13. You're also forgetting the enhanced healing factor Johnson inherited from the attempted Flood assimilation too. His healing factor may have stabilized him enough so that he didn't die until he could be properly treated by a Lifeworker Huragok.

  14. It’s absolutely possible, honestly with advanced human tech, I thought maybe Johnson was a clone of a perfect master sgt with spartan augmentation basically he could die infinity number of times, love your idea of him coming back from the dead yet again, why not, epic character the games been missing, bring back John, Arby and the flood and we have our selves an epic halo game like back in the day, also bring back gung-ho marines with sailer mouths and a Cortana that’s confident and can hand the situation and isn’t confused about everything and we might have something that rivals the trilogy

  15. I feel like if he were to return I wouldn’t want him to be a Spartan 4. Half of what made Johnson badass was that he was just a marine however he was just as good as Spartan.

  16. Chief meets Johnson:
    Chief: how?
Johnson: classified, even to you chief. Brief pause oh alright don't look at me with those puppy dog eyes. It was one of them floatin lightbulbs. Chews cigar I didn't need his help.

  17. I'm a hundred percent in on bringing Johnson back and I know he went through spark1 augmentations he probably spent time in cryo but making him a Spartan for had almost 80 years old seams a bit much

  18. Even if Johnson did die, it is well within the realm of technology in the Halo universe to resuscitate him as had only just succumbed to his injuries. His screen time between his dying death to the last time we see him sliding off the platform was less than 1 minute. Just saying, crazier things have happened in Halo lore.

  19. As I see it there is a few ways 343 can save the franchise, and this is one of them. Also i think they need to start doing some stuff for the campaign as well. Can’t wait 6 more years for a aight game.

  20. I know it would be cool if Johnson came back, however I feel like it would be like every Star Wars show. It would ruin what happened in Halo 3, it would lessen what he sacrificed in that game, just for some fanservice.
