  1. Get it right!
    It is NOT a transformer!
That would be for AC current.

For DC current, the proper name is “Buck Converter”!

And the guy made a mistake when saying “use less power”, wrong!

The power stays the same, the current is what gets cut by 4 times, as the voltage is multiplied 4 times!

  2. Ford dealers are overstocked with cars and trucks they can't sell at those sky high prices at these interest rates. Ford is having a lot of those dealers not accepting 2024 models whether gas or electric. Ford's bottom line numbers will suck this year. The maverick might sell because it's more affordable.
I think this is why Ford is putting off the retooling of the Canadian factory…. they can't afford it.

  3. Uh let's be clear here. Other cars are also vulnerable to hacking…. not just Teslas. Onstar systems also can be hacked. Keyless entry systems can be hacked… etc etc.
The difference here is that Tesla is getting the best hackers in the world to help them secure their cars before a REAL attacker tries to do something. This will make them much less likely to have future issues. One has to wonder whether the OEMs are doing the same on their EVs??

  4. I've lived in Detroit 70 years, have been involved in automotive for over 50 years, and feel Autoline Network is "Polyanna" about the current status and future of EVs – I believe YouTube "MGuy" channel host Simon is as real-world about the EV ecosystem as you can get – I have never heard MGuy being referred to on Autoline – Has your Network ever listened to him? My take is your audience would be more fairly served if you had MGuy Simon (with his "worldwide" all-things EV perspective) as a guest on your show – Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request.

  5. Ford supplying combat vehicles to Ukraine War while Europe and GM dither and bicker. I think the entire World bet on becoming "the next Tesla" and has lost that bet big time. Cybertruck sales might start surprising to the upside big time as well which will definitely shake up the entire US market for both cars and trucks if that plays. Combined Rivian, Ford and Tesla alone could sell 500,000 all electric pickup trucks in the USA this Year. That would forever alter the US vehicle market if this is how Calendar Year 2024 plays out. Already reports that Tesla Model S and Model X sales are surging as well plus a huge sales Year for hybrid drive das auto well underway as well/too. Definitely a whole new World out there for vehicles in North America more like the 1920s actually so much to choose from.

  6. China could start dumping that over capacity into developing markets. I mean, Russia is under heavy sanctions right now, but if China wants to sell green vehicles into Russia, Belarus, Georgia, the stans, throughout ASEAN countries, etc. This would do is reduce global emissions from EVs, which many countries obviously support. It would lead to further vassalization of Russia.
In the case of countries not called Russia, I was thinking that car sharing cooperatives justlike Modo in Vancouver could help get people in middle-income countries like Chile, Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Turkey, and others into expensive EVs without the same financial commitment of buying the car outright.
Also, with car sharing cooperatives like Modo, people can save boatloads of money, as well as electricity, with a fleet of short-range EVs for short commutes, and a smaller fleet of long-range EVs.

  7. The auto industry is drunk on technology and needs a doctor. They are ignoring a huge segment of their loyal customer base. Why? Government mandates and Wall street darlings!
