  1. The space X suit does not have it's own EVA???? WTF!! that's no real space suit and severely limited if one is needed to repair or work on anything outside on Starship in the future.
DAM you Musk and your propaganda, NASA ditched those kind of suits in Gemini!
What is the use of having a space suit with no EVA capability thus restricted to only a few meters it is obvious those suits are totally inappropriate achieving anything outside and are just a Hollywood fashion stunt.

  2. After what happened to the Tesla 500 Supercharger network expansion folks, I wouldn't miss too many schedules road closures if I was in charge out there. The months are slipping away.
Great update as usual, Felix. The new live WAI internet feed is great although I did have to buy a barely used laptop from Amazon. Three TV's are enough.

  3. I did not know that two crewmembers were going to go EVA on the Polaris Dawn mission. I'll tell you though, if I were one of the ones not chosen for that, and that nice, big hatch was just hanging there open, I would not be able to resist going up and poking my head out! Keeping a good, firm grip on the inside while I did so, of course.
I am very excited about Starship flight 4. Steadily increased flight cadence is as important as anything else. Let's hope that the biggest difference between IFT-4 and IFT-3 is that, this time, both stages reach the water intact. That will be a major step forward. Really, all else depends on achieving that. I'm sure we will see both a catch attempt (successful?) and Starlink deployments (yes, plural) his year. I wonder when the first external customer payload will be flown. First half of next year would be excellent.

  4. The US Department of Transportation should take note: How to get things done in a timely manner.
(I can understand projects are limited by available funds and obtaining skilled and reliable people to do the work.)

  5. Thank goodness the USgov got out of the way of space. Nasa nothing but another bureaucracy laiden agency. Only with 4 letters instead of the normal 3.
Go private space companies. Go X

  6. I doubt they will try to land/catch a returning booster until they have a second launch tower ready to go. They just can't afford to lose their only launch facility.

  7. So will it blow up the landing pad sxuessdully, get lost for 12 minutes after it blows up successfully or will it successfully decinegrate entering the atmosphere backwards0 or will it successfully explode on the catching arms? So many opportinities to succeed without meeting a single nasa deadline and using the entire nasa allowance.

  8. Catching the booster attempt depends on the result of the next flight.. they said they have to be happy with how well they can control the booster.. and if everything goes as planned they might attempt to catch on the next flight. If not, more changes will be needed before the attempt.

  9. The Polaris Dawn mission is probably one of the most ambitious manned missions since the Apollo Program and its not being done by a government. Its actually quite amazing and ground breaking.

  10. Everything on that land that is not in use must be recycled, but if it is repurposed and used, it gets to stay. Thats why Star Hopper is being repurposed. Laws are laws in Texas.
