We have got fire again this week my friends, and how do you think the new concrete held up? The SpaceX Starship Booster Upgrade After Static Fires is needed so it has been removed from the Orbital Launch Mount on Friday. Diving right into that along with the general updates at Starbase. The incredible little Hakuto-R Moon Lander is on its way soon. Lots to learn about this one to be hurled into space by Falcon 9. We had CRS-26 sending super critical components to upgrade the International Space Station. Then Artemis 1 has Orion continuing its breath-taking journey as it prepares to head home.

  1. Why can't we send a small little spacecraft and with tons of pellets and water for some mice, put them in their own enclosure near the ISS, and have it spin around to test artificial gravity on live animals? It would be so easy to do with mice and we NEED to start testing artificial gravity asap if we wanna make it to Mars by the end of the decade.

    I want to see if spinning around a space craft to produce centrifugal force actually could be used to simulate gravity, and if so, how much gravity you really need to keep an organism's bones and muscle structure as they would be on earth/Mars.

  2. 12:40 is this the first time in many years all components are new on a spacex mission? No reused fairings, boosters, dragons.. Reusability has really become so everyday thing yet it’s still only one company reflying orbital stuff yet.

  3. If the United States would build plutonium reactors to run civilian landers and rovers. The civilian companies could build their rovers or space craft around that reactor to ensure the craft/lander etc wouldn’t die as fast. The equipment could explore for as long as it held up mechanically. And the reactors could be located and reused if feasible. It would be a great civilian use for radioactive material instead of military use that doesn’t help anyone.

  4. We have seen Starship stubby little legs, and we know Lunar and Mars gravity is a fraction of that of Earth. Still the engines with 100-150T cargo weight landing on the moon or Mars could alter the landing terrain. Has SpaceX started planning leg designs for landing Starship on anything other than a concrete pad at Boca Chica? Cargos for initial missions should be damage-proof in case the ships tip and fall over, and so on. Initial cargos should be equipment for building sturdy landing platforms for next Starships.

This whole issue of concrete chunks flying around seems a bit odd, refractory mixes for the inside of furnaces have been around for centuries, surely a refractory mix, reinforced with stainless steel fibres for strength should be strong enough. If it isn't, then a liquid cooled stainless plate on top of the concrete would surely be better. I just don't get it. ?

  6. Do you think Space X will use very short-duration low-level flights to learn how to capture the booster? I'm thinking to fly the boaster up and clear the tower then moving sideways to line up with the chopsticks then lower down to let the tower catch it. I think you land the booster above the tower then allow it to sink down for catching.

  7. i still think they will scrap the tower it will fail and they will put legs like falcon.
    i might be wrong tho. i hope that tower works. but I still think it I snot logical path.

  8. Can anyone please tell me (us!) what the towers and wires strung between them (around the launch site, 8:04) are doing? Is it some kind of lightning protection? Credited to @JohnKrausPhotos so I guess I could ask him!

  9. Seems to me a logic disconnect there at BC. They have been singing the praises of high temperature stainless steel, and yet, no one has tried putting a thin, flat tank of water, made out of stainless steel, below the engines. With a nice spiral of perforated stainless for structural support, and thermal transfer inside the "pancake", they should be able to boil off a good sum of water, before the tank goes dry, which they could vent off to the side. This should end the pad erosion for good.

    Thanks for a bit of Ozzy Space History! I never knew that Australia only started “officially” into space exploration in the 70’s. Now I have something new to cheer on. I think Australian can-do and yet east going attitude will add quite a bit of innovation to private space exploration. I do love my friends down under.

    That photo showing both earth and moon is amazing.

    Id love to hear you do a full breakdown of the cameras on the Artemis mission.

    I heard that they used GoPro's tested for micro gravity vacuum conditions….

    PLEASE tell me that is not true.

    If true… no no I can not believe that!!!

  13. I was 6 years old when i saw the moonlanding which i still dont know if it was fake. I am wondering since back then. Happy to know that Elon REALLY is going to bring us into space and further. Please Marcus, stay alive and always update us on anything space related please please I loove your content and my whole family is watching. I am sure even my Grandfather in his grave is waiting for new videos coming up.
