What do you think is the purpose of the second Mechazilla? Improving the launch cadence, or maybe just Starship catching?
After the 40TH time hearing the same speech about youtube unsubscribing people, I finally unsubscribed myself. STFU, and you make plenty of money off of views. your commercials from sponsors and your wai website completely ruin a video.
Those tanks aren't shrouded at all, and the mystery can't go very deep. We can have a decent idea what they are for, with the only question being which of the three fluids each will contain. Why make more of these activities than they represent? One could ask the same of this comment.
Early 2027 seems to me very optimistic too. It would'nt be surprising that such a huge game changing project could take even 20 years …

i'm dubious about landing starship vertically on the moon's surface. no landing pad on the moon, elon.
Yet another reason why they wouldn’t want to bury tanks underground is it would kick off a revised environmental impact review.
To me it seems impossible to launch people into space having only one tower – only one possibility to land. In case of any glitch with the tower the crew would be arrested in space.
Wow 20 more years, and a hundred billion, and elon will be on par with Russian rockets from the 60s😂😂
Refueling, ok, but why not apart? One StarShip with oxygene and one with Methane? Looks to me more simple and less parts, so more stuff to tranport and to handle.

Why is it taking so long to return to the moon ? we have all all this new technology and computer power and its taking twice as long as it did in the 1960 when all we had was the the technology of a calculator. Plus we supposedly went to the moon several times too. Makes one think about the claim thats been around for years now. Did we or Didnt we?
I have been following you guys for a while now. Thank you for the great videos and information you present. I have to go to Dallas in January and decided to indulge myself to visit Starbase. I got a flight to BRO. I will be there for a day. I want to see the Booster and Starship in person. It is in my todo list. Is it better to rent a car? What places do you recommend to stay and visit for a day?
I wonder if the new tower pieces are to make the current tower taller?
Is the GAO ignoring the fact that NASA's projects take longer than they should due to the contracts that NASA hands out not really punishing contractors for going overtime and budget?
To infinity and beyond
The second launch tower could be to better accommodate upcoming changes to startship and superheavy. If Raptor 3.0 is close to production then Musk already hinted at stretching the total stack. There might not be enough height or travel distance with OLM-1 or Mechazilla to accommodate a taller stack.
10:38 you missed the part where 15-25 starships (depending on a currently unknown fuel boiloff rate) will be need to be launched immediately, after lunar starships launch, rendezvous with it to fuel the 1 Lunar starship for the trip to the moon. THEN SLS will launch to send the crew to lunar gateway to meet lunar starship, where it will need to refuel again (at lunar gateway)before landing on the moon..

Yeah lets bury tanks in a salt water flood plane that's just a great idea. Not like they have to be able to visually inspect the tanks on a daily basis for leaks, weak spots, or rust. Or the safety issues that come from attempting to confine an explosion under ground. Above tanks just blow into the atmosphere, buried tanks letting go could easily cause earthquake lvl tremors that could easily damage the rest if the facility.
Gagarin was in space in April 1961. Astronauts were in moon July 1969. 8 years from nothing to Moon. How come we have so many problems today. Bad decision, bad disign, bad planning. What is wrong?
The second tower is probably one of about 3 to 8 more. I'm thinking they will need some that are significantly taller and perhaps more stoutly built, to handle taller heavier ships.
My thought is SpaceX could build rocket 🚀 go to the moon 🌙 by late 2024 or early 2025.
Such a waste of money. Texas will never be the launch pad for any real missions…

I think the date of the moon landing is highly dependent on how much the government allows special interest groups to slow or stop SpaceX testing schedules. If environmentalists, environmental agencies, as well as other anti-testing forces are allowed to continue slowing SpaceX's work, it could be easily the 2030s before we reach the surface of the moon again.

How many different tools of scientific exploration can you put in a Tesla pickup and make it a Rover on the moon
Instead of just one tower with two arms, how about two towers with an extended "arm" that way two towers can take a better load when landing not only that but depending on how far apart the towers are, you get a larger area to aim your landing so that it doesn't have to be so pin point.
