SpaceX just dropped their 2024 version of Mission to Mars! What’s changed? Is it accurate? What does Angry think?

Hard to imagine ship to ship propellant transfer without spin on the ships to ensure fuel to the pumps. Maybe Elon has secret access to other artificial gravity?
I do admire Elon's vision. I agree about the suits, the CGI artist probably went with what he saw.
I would be happy to see us land on the moon again.
I think higher orbits will be possible without refueling, what remains to be seen is what kind of mass can be accomplished without wasting the ship. The math is not kind to that kind of ship mass…
I seriously doubt this will ever happen but I enjoyed the CGI.
Not just changes but it's also interesting what didn't change. My first observation – on the opening shot of the launch site with two towers it shows the tank farms (existing and new 2nd one for 2nd launch tower) still using big vertical tanks. Probably just saving budget by not considering it worth re-rendering for likely switch to using horizontal hotdog tanks but maybe worth pointing out?
Posit, upon Reaching the level of Development on Mars, why not in the Lower Gravity, when Starship Lands upon the Pad, Lower the Pad/Ship Beneath the Surface as seen in the Cheesy 50's Movies and Shows.
Wouldn't it make things so much easier? Transferring Cargo, etc, Avoiding the Necessity of Bulky Space Suits and Vehicles to Facilitate Everything.
Just an Idea/Possibility.
Now I've got to the end I think SpaceX, pretty sensibly, did decide to cost-optimise the revisions to the video and not spend too much money so where footage from the old video was close enough (changes fairly minor) compared to latest design thinking they didn't bother to make the mods. I spotted 2 other places where this might be happening. Elon has talked about Starship 2.0 and that might include possible relocation of forward fins that he has also mentioned but the fins looked the same to me. Also, Elon has mentioned the possibility of 6 vacuum Raptors on Starship but this video still only shows 3.
Mars in 2024? Only if you want to commit suicide. Without developing and improving technology's on the Moon, it's a one way ticket with a horrible ending.
Happy new Year Jordan
When Elon talked about them sending a starship to Mars in the new 3-4 years I think the ship will have Tesla robots on board and other equipment like a modified Cyber Truck for them to use and a solar system to charge them up etc and a basic basis for them to build and do testing of soil etc.
well if I was Elon that’s what I would do
Honestly, I don't think Starship is the best vehicle to colonise Mars with, but rather, it's the vehicle you use to build the vehicles to colonise Mars with.
Are the astronauts expected to jump from that hight, surely they are exiting the wrong hatch, where's the elevator?
So they still believe Ellon is taking them to Mars? Ellon Con Musk? He's very good on CGI though. LOL
You are just going to have to accept that some design choices will never make sense to you. They do to the booster though. In this instance, hot staging makes the booster more effective for its next use.
WILL BECOME CERN MOTORS OR PLASMA MOTORS OR HYDROGAIN.
😀
THEY MUST GO CERN MOTORS. WHIT SHIELD FOR ASTONAUTS😀
THIS 2025 WE HAVE TO STAY FINICHED TO GO.
😀
MABY WE MAKE IT SPACE SUIT
😀
Good news! Now humanity to first raise next generation permanent space station on lunar surface only, to save time, money and natural resources. Then it is possible to reach lunar surface within couple of hours and Mars within couple of days and then it possible to reach Pluto within couple of weeks and Proxima Centauri B / ETLs within couple of month with advanced spacecrafts.
I think a mission to Mars in 2024 might be a little Elon-Time esk. But that said, they are the world leaders in rapid iteration of prototype orbital class rockets so who knows. I guess it all hinges on IFT3, when that is and how well it goes.
The series "For all mankind" With a degree of accuracy depicts what Ray Bradbury depicted in his book "The Martian Chronicles " Where we bring our vices, crime, and other depravities to Mars
