Great! This is just great! Seriously!?
Yesterday, after some quiet days at the Starbase launch pad, SpaceX surprisingly removed the Hot staging ring from Booster 9.
The ring was slowly lowered to the ground by the lifting jig, Maarvin.
So far, we still don’t know exactly why, but it can be for access to the top of the booster. Chopsticks are supporting its partner, Ship 25, hence why it can’t hold Booster 9 unpressurized.

At one point during the stacking, they had to do a clumsy and precarious lean out from the Starship work platform to connect a communication cable to the side of the ship.
I suspect this may be due to there being some sort of problem with communications passthrough from the booster to the hot stage and to Starship.
This might be to implement a fix if that was the problem, indeed.

Next up, let’s try to enjoy this particular event!
Come on, it is a total eye-feast!
In fact, SpaceX pushed Test Tank 26.1 beyond its limits in an intentionally explosive test at Masseys! The prototype was filled with cryo fluid until it ultimately reached its limit and burst, spewing out billowing white nitrogen clouds.
In slow-motion, it appears that fluid started bursting from the bottom first.
The tank pops and collapses, sinking into the nitrogen plumes.
From 2019 to 2020, SpaceX has been performing a series of tests like this at Boca Chica to refine its designs for the stainless steel Starship.

  1. When did the American FAA become the controlling authority of Space?! It would seem to ME that their authority would be LIMITED to the airspace over the United States and it outlying (If there are any left) territories. How is it that the FAA has ANY authority over the airspace of any other country?

  3. Thanks for the video. Nothing warms this old engineer's heart like laughing at young pups (SpaceX is the leader in this) claiming NEW and REVOLUTIONARY for marginal achievements (or total failures) replicating half century old achievements in a dumber and less efficient/effective way.

Keep pointing at the stupid; I'll keep laughing.

    Thanks again.

  4. Government delays are primarily to slow SpaceX down and cost Musk money in retaliation for out-competing automobile and rocket legacy contractors and because Musk bought Twitter to support free speech on the platform.

  5. Where does the water at the Florida launch sites go? Right into the wildlife refuge, I would assume. Fish and Wildlife already have 60 yrs of data for this, but SpaceX has continually embarrassed NASA and their costly approach to rocket launching. Can you say ARTEMIS! This is the only way to slow down the pace of SpaceX and try to save some face on Artemis costs and delays. Not to mention Elon's personal politics. This is an infuriatingly obvious delay tactic.

  6. This is one question I'd like to ask the Fish & Wildlife Service: What is the WORST possible impact on fish & wildlife from a SpaceX launch that could occur if you did NOTHING? Nothing should be easy to study.

  7. One day the world will stand in awe as the Chinese land a man on mars. We will have the corruption of the US government to thank for this. America is dying. It is already to late to save it.

  8. looks like they are trying to delay as long as possible and not because of enviromental or wildlife concerns. they just enjoy the idea that they have power. too much power in my opinion. their studies get way too abstract from where it should be.

  9. They genuinely stated that the Secondary part of a rocket should try to cause as little damage to people on the ground?!??!! (or as they say limit the damage to people on the ground??! U serious)Yet 144 days to make considerations about fish and wildlife from a deluge system.) They are saying We are screwing over SPACEX) – Elon time to explain they will need to be paying Russia for flights until deluge system is cleared. The Dragon needs time to breath fire back at NASA. This is more than B-S:.t now I’m afraid 😱) [latter. B-S:.t stack] Engine assortment.
