Thank God for CGIs.
Starship & Superheavy are not rapidly reusable and they never will be. Too bad about the delay. I was looking forward to seeing SpaceX destroying a booster and Stage Zero in one shot.
In a strange way I'm glad Elon has taken off his sheepskin coat and unveiled the political wolf within.
This has allowed me to remove my SpaceX/Tesla tinted glasses that I've always worn.
There're two sides to every story and Elon is NOT helping SpaceX's story.
Interesting you portrayed Musk as the Democrat Blue and the Bloated and Problematic Government as Republican Red. .
Tbh SpaceX promises life multi planetary asap so local ecology is a « minorΒ Β» factor for a huge potential goal for life spread in the universe. Itβs not as if SpaceX is polluting more than heavy industries and uses dangerous chemicals/metals anyway, the mercury dose is clearly wrong
the Climate Alarmism cult ruins everything
How about letting billionairs pay more taxes so that agencies can employ/incorporate more staff so that investigations and planing dont take as long? Its a fact that most goverment agencies worldwide are overworked and its funny how neoliberals always construct friend-foe narratives and blame the collective attempt to achieve more safety, transparency and fairness (buerocracy) on every occasion, especially when it doesnt go according to their fantasies, instead of just asking how they can support the process of figuring everything out. I guess you either believe in pluralism or you dont. I love space exploration but I m sick of this ego mentality. With this culture they wont survive one day in deep space, because there is no one they could blame when they f**ked up. There you just die, but then again its not the people that drive these narrative that die but those who cant afford to disagree.
Progress is about change. That includes among the bureaucrats. This video should have presented needed changes in that arena where doing everything in low gear prevails.
It's a well known joke in aerospace that the aircraft is ready when the paperwork weighs more than the craft itself.
Musk on Mars – Space Unicorns
Using statements issued by Elon Musk I have calculated the viability of his Mars colonization project. Strap in, the G-forces will be very high.
Musk admitted that 1 million tons of material must be sent to Mars in advance of humans to supply the components for safe habitat.
That requires 10,000 successful launches and subsequent descents of Starship to the selected habitat area on Mars (100 ton payload per Starship claimed by Musk).
In addition, Musk stated it will take 6 more Starships for every Mars bound vehicle to refuel those Mars bound Starships for the actual Mars journey. That's 60,000 additional Starship launches, allowing that there are no failures.
This gives us 7 launches for every Mars bound vehicle. So in reality, at one launch per day (wildly optimistic = delusional, but let's go with it) it will take 7 days per Mars bound vehicle. That now totals 191 years to complete material transfer.
1) What will happen to the first material that lands after 191 years while it sits waiting for the final structural parts to be landed?
2) Who will finance each Starship?
3) Who will finance the cargo?
4) Who will finance the fuel mass needed to make the journey?
5) What can be done at the Mars site if material is damaged?
6) During the 191 years will there continue to be a viable SpaceX factory?
7) How many Starship launches will fail during the program to put material on Mars.
8) How many Starships will crash during the landing phase on Mars?
These are the most basic problems. There are countless questions for the logistics to get started, keep it operational and do the costly program maintenance.
If I were Musk I'd move star base to Mexico or Canada
Appears space X changed the parameters let's call it.. Delay was pretty obvious now. Both sides are to blame it seems. Just go ahead and do it.
Not allowed to have a successful launch before the elections!
It is sad how muskie hates on rules and regulations… typical narcissistic behavior which dismisses care of others.
Boeing is the FAA.
Boeing hates SpaceX.
Therefore, the FAA hates SpaceX.
Too biased. Unfollow
FAA = LAWFARE If Harris is chosen president XSPACE is over !!!!!!
I love watching Spacex progress. However there is a saying βDonβt make your lack of planning my emergencyβ. Before the company complains they should have all their homework done and submitted well before their desired dates.
This guy needs to have him double-check. He is inaccurate with some of his information.
They're just mad that he endorsed 45
Typo? Typed? I doubt it.
The more I think about it, the typo more than likely occured at the FAA because SpaceX would do everything on computers and likely transmit their applications/correspondence electronically to obtain a timestamp. Sabotage?
Delayed until after the election. Canβt allow Elon Musk to make any points before the election. After all, points for him would be points for Trump.
I appreciate that you actually included the FAA's arguments. All the other space channels are just saying they're stupid doo-doo heads.
Its political because Elon is endorsing Trump.
HE SAID GAWT INSTEAD OF GOT AND EWT INSTEAD OF OUT AND DEWT INSTEAD OF DOUBT π
But why does it take so long to review?
This is crazy
Good report. Fair.
1:18 – Ah, here we are: finding excuses for non-existent HLS version of Starship, or orbital refueling outside of outdated CGI animations..
As I see it, federal and state agencies are doing their job for what the taxpayers are paying them. Turning a blind eye to SpaceX would be a dereliction of duty (something that FAA did once before with Boeing, at the cost of 350 lives; they learned from that.)
There is a huge amount of work lest before SpaceX has a surface operations ready EVA suit, but, step by step – "Gradatim Ferociter!" (as Bezos would say π)
Does the FAA regulate thunder storms? A sonic boom isn't as loud so what is the problem with noise and wild life.
But flying the same profile is NOT what SpaceX wants to do over and over, what are you talking about? They are trying to rapidly innovate, they've been saying that since before starship existed my dude! How do you have the same profile flight after flight if you're rapidly innovating?!
DOWN WITH THE GOVERNMENT!
cough BULLSHIT cough the US Air Force has absolutely no problem launching whatever rocket they want, whenever they want, with absolutely no notice, from wherever they want. The FAA needs to f off.
Your bias and fake-impartiality are both obvious and boring. Unsubscribing…
The FAA's insistence on micromanaging SpaceX is utterly incompatible with the whole idea of iterative development.
"…primarily concerned about public safety" Bullshit. None of these delays and fines has anything to do with actual public safety. You sound like you're the FAA's press secretary.
Thank you so much for some fair, objective and detailed reporting on the issue. Unlike so many SpaceX sycophant channels. For the fanboys, Elon has had years to develop a good relationship with the regulators and act in good faith. Your precious Starship is late because of Elon's continual contempt and tardiness.
This was awesome video πͺ
Bull S#/t. The FAA, & EPA delays are purely political. Elon endorses Trump, government starts leaning on SpaceX
I would have thought China would have that title. At least SpaceX doesnβt drop rockets populated areas
I no longer trust this guy's opinion he was barely able to veil what he thinks. The information quality is average especially quoting CNBC as a source.
The title of this video is horrendous
I believe Musk is kinda being politically targeted here because of who he's backing up this election. Think about it. Vote Blue and you're going to keep getting more reds in relation to Starship progressing. Meanwhile, China….
ππ»ππ»β€οΈ
I'd rather have drinkable water than a fast track for spacex. Since corporations only care about money, you can't trust them to make sure they aren't damaging our environment. So it's a necessary evil to have some entity to make sure it isn't a problem. Since companies can and do lie, the regulators have to act like private detectives to make sure the company isn't hiding anything. That's what takes so long. From the company perspective it's great to complain about red tape. From a citizen of earth, I'd complain that if companies didn't lie and actually cared about our environment, it wouldn't be necessary.
Basically Elon / SpaceX are being dicks and put blame on the FAA and they are not happy having to abide by the rules that apply to everyone.
