THE STORY OF THE MASSACRE AT HIVE BASTIAN.
Nearing the end of the Indomitus Crusade, the planet of Alexandretta Prime was under heavy attack by Orks. With Capital Hive Bastian under siege which it had been locked in for months. However, the walls and energy shielding were still holding out.
Many imperial factions took part in the military action to save the planet from the Green menace. From titan legions and Knight households. To the Astra militrum and planetary defence forces.
Two space marine chapters were present during this war. The Aurora Legion. Commanded by 2nd Company captain Markus Quintar. And the Rift Talons, commanded by 1st Company Captain Thrax. Overall command of operations was given to Markus. Due to the Rift Talons proclivity of impetuous and hyper aggressive assault actions.
Thus the Rift Talons were held in reserve. Used as counter assaults to ork actions. While the Aurora Legion used its armoured fists detachments to starve the main ork siege force of supplies. As a direct attack on the main ork force would of been a massive risk and while the walls held the combined forces still had time.
This course of action angered Captain Thrax. Who was forced to engage ork battleships in orbit around Hive Bastian. From his strike cruiser, he waited for command from Markus, on when he could deploy his ground forces…
Day 119 into the siege, during heavy fighting on the ground, in the skies and in orbit around Hive Bastian. In the north eastern most part of the city, an incredibly high yield energy weapon pierced the shielding and breached the outer walls of the city. Instantly, thousands upon thousands of orks poured through the breach and into Hive Bastian itself.
Without order or communications with other force commanders. Thrax deployed 3 entire battle companies of his marines directly into the breach and the city itself.
For 3 days the Rift Talons fought with no rest. No respite. Their ferocity matching that of the orks. Hundreds of thousands of orks were killed. Yet still they kept coming. Thrax always in the thickest of the fighting.
On the 4th day after the breach. The siege was finally lifted by the armoured might of the Aurora Legion lead by Markus Quintar. What they found inside the city, was a massacre. Millions of imperial citizens dead. Butchered by orks. And a top of a mountain of Ork dead. His eviserator slick with gore. His Terminator armoured pieced in a hundred places. Stood Captain Thrax. His visage that of crimson horror.
Gulliman was outraged by the these actions. Scorned the Rift Talons to clear out remaining ork resistance on the outer moons of the system. While Gulliman awarding commendations to all those others who fought at Hive bastian. Gifting Markus the master crafted bolt rifle 'Lament' for his actions to end the siege and bring the war for Alexandretta to an end.
In the shadows during this. Inquisitor greyfax and her agents made her investigations of the Hive Bastian siege. What she discovered. Sickened her to the core.
Adeptus mechanicus survey maniples had discovered no ork weaponry capable of piecing both the shielding and the wall in that area. The energy weapon that pierced the Hive. Came from an Imperial vessel in low orbit. Captain Thraxs strike cruiser. He fired the shot that breached the city walls. Using the chaos of battle to cover his action. And allow him to deploy his forces.
Gullimans rage could not be contained. He declared the Rift Talons excommunicate traitoris. And commanded the Aurora Legion to hunt down and eliminate Thrax and his remaining marines. But thrax was gone. The outer moons already cleared of any life. Ork or imperial…
Thrax will have his revenge on Greyfax. Her Skull will make a worthy offering, to those willing to recognise his martial skills.

Great rep fella, love the fluff aspect of the fire discipline on the intercessors didnāt do as much but was great to see, especially when you donāt get chances to see stuff like that (hey Rich, donāt be deterred from the fire discipline potential, after all itās best used with our chapter after all, you donāt need Calgar, just 6 Aggressors, Biologis and a Grav Captain and everyone can have fun and itās not a Death Star for the opponent to beat) anyway canāt wait for the next one, and donāt feel too bad not using AOC it happens and vidicators with dark pacts are very worrisome, well done fella šš½šš½šš½

I have this mental picture of a 15 year old kid, lets call him Matthew. Heās buying, clipping, glueing and painting his very first army. Then doing research and finding the local spots where you guys meet up. And this kid agrees to meet up with you guys. Looking forward to it, he packs his stuff early, jumps on his bike, rides towards the local game shop , packs out his stuff and buys himself a coke, while waiting for you guys.
And then you guys show up, probably with motorcycles, entering the pub already having a few laughs. And you see this kid going all pale.
And one of you guys goes āahā¦ you must be Matthew. :-D. ā
And by the end of the evening, that 15 year old kid has 3 tattoos and learned more about life in 3 hours than he did in the last 14 years of his life ššššš .
