  1. Looks really cool, I love Xia and would pick this up. I agree that being able to buy ships would be awesome, it's one of my favorite things about the game. Thanks for doing a video on it!

  2. "Better than Xia" is a very bold claim. I think that statement is also very subjective.

As someone who prefers larger, deeper and longer board game experiences, the points you bring up would definitely not make it the better game for my tastes. Quite the opposite in fact.

I personally dont typically play smaller, faster games because i dont have to. I have 3 tables, play solo only, and do not have the need to share my gameroom with anyone else. So if i choose to leave a massive game up indefinitely, then i can.

Dont get me wrong, I'd be interested in playing Spacers. It looks like a fun game. But Xia has paid it's dues and earned it's place as arguably the greatest space exploration board game ever made, which for me is infact true. I believe it would take a game much more than being smaller and faster than Xia to be better than Xia.

  3. Hi Daniel! Thanks so much for covering my game. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and I also loved all of your ideas for possible expansions. To those who are interested in getting the game, I will be hosting a Crowd Sale on The Game Crafter, which causes every copy that is sold to lower the price for everyone who bought during the sale. I know that The Game Crafter is an expensive avenue, but I hope this Crowd Sale will make it a little easier for people to play the game. Be on the lookout over the next few days for the Crowd Sale to begin. It will run until September 23rd!

  4. You are so right Daniel about this game. I agree with you 100%. There is so much going on with the events, missions, random encounters. The game mechanics make sense and it appears to run like a well-oiled machine. Great that there is solo support! I agree that different ships would be a nice addition!

  5. I dislike Space themes and settings. Yes, I miss out on some games, but I just can't buy into them. Dull, black voids with some spheres is just not my type of art. Maybe Cosmic Encounter, and only because I have been gaming since the 80's. Give me some silly High Fantasy and I am happy.

  6. Nice game.
But I really would like to see a game like that to be more exploration focused than trading goods.
I really hope we see an expansion or new game based on exploration of the galaxy and multiple star systems and planets.

  7. Thanks Daniel for a great look at another potential hidden gem. I’ve been following this game since the original Kickstarter. Was happy to see it given a new lease on life on Game Crafter and again now on your channel. I’ve been tempted many times to get it in the past specifically because of the Xia light leanings, but never did. Now might be the time thanks to you!

  8. Man… I was all in until the solo goal was just to ‘win as soon as possible’. That and ‘see how many points you can get’ are my two least favorite solo game objectives. Maybe a newer version can get an additional solo mode with a boss or real objective to do because otherwise the game looks amazing.
