Space Wolves vs Tyranids 40k Combat Patrol sized Battle Report

James Jones is back on the channel and he’s NOT playing Orks! Little known is that he is a huge fan of Space Wolves and he jumped on the chance to play the new beautifully painted Space Wolf combat patrol we just got! Nick, ever eager to play, takes control of the Tyranids to try and get revenge on James!

Note! Combat Patrol plays slightly different than regular full size 40k. Some of the data sheets and abilities have been adjusted to be more balanced for this smaller size of play.

  1. That tyranid patrol is hard to win with. A lot of bodies but very little firepower. They should have left the Psychophage its FNP aura to let the swarm turtle up on it when the terrain doesn't give many sheltered spots.

  2. To be honest every ork player needs a couple of other armies for the boyz to beat up on, the same way that the Harlem Globetortters need the Washington Generals.

  3. This was easily the most boring Comat Patrol and its not even on part of the editing or the players. It was just the Combat Patrol of the Tyranids. After round 2 all enjoyment in the game just went. I think Tyranids only killed one model? It's really sad just how bad the Tyranid Combat Patrol is. Really makes content creation from such an amazing channel feel boring and I hate that.

  4. Can you guys please do an episode of combat patrol when you both try armies you’ve never played . Would be cool to see experienced players try a new army an fumble through it like a more experienced beginner to the game . ❤❤please pretty please

  5. If your looking at straight probability rolling a 4, 5 or 6 is 16.6% each or 1in6
    Rolling a 4 or higher is 50% or 3in6
But it also is dependant on which number is upright when you start the roll. Blah blah blah
I remember watching another video of a mathematician that is way smarter than me, say that after rolling dice 1000 times they that the chances of rolling a 4,5 or 6 was 66% on 6 sided dice but i didnt understand why, and can't find the video to ref sorry. 😅

Also James saying "I'm having fun" when tabling Nick in the last minute is the most orky thing ever! Haha can take the orks away from Mr Initiative, but can not take the Ork out of the boss! 😂😂😂

  6. Nick learning from his Leapers' mistakes with over-aggressive deployment and choosing to play it safe instead is such a hivemind adaptation learning moment. You never fool the synaptic nexus twice (or three times). He really is meant to play Tyranids.

  7. I won a combat patrol tournament with the nids and the game against space wolves was the most straight forward. All your weapons are effective against space marines and totally ineffective vs the war suit. The whole game is delaying that war suit. At the end of the battle it was his suit vs the world with most of its wounds

  8. Great match, thank you!
I love all your team members but you two guys are my all time favorite matchup, playerwise, not factionwise.
You two vibe on a whole nother level, its the perfect combination of calm, excited and funny, i love to watch you play.

  9. I personally enjoyed watching this combat patrol sized match more than big armies. It's easier to keep track of what was going on, you get more acquainted with units and their capabilities, and of course it's less time consuming 😉

  10. Can someone explain the 90% chance nick had of succeeding that 4+ save? that math isn't adding up. he has a 50% chance on a 4+ save with one balanced D6, right? And that will always be that case, right?
