And this is why all my ships are hybrids with hydrogen thrusters, just to annoying to go with just one type. This also means that I set up a big block hydrogen tank an O2s first in the base to refuel fast. And a starting location with ice is a must.
Sometimes less is more while your design ideas for decoration is great you are adding more weight to the drill ship!
Also give them a chance to charge up all those batteries you have been suing this new ship without a full charge.
That begs the question which are better small thrusters or large thrusters
1 large thruster has a lot more thrust than a small thruster but small thrusters are significantly more compact and you can easily place a lot of them
So for the sake of science I want to know how much thruster per surface area (1 block) thrusters produce not volume
Also if you ever put a refinery on a ship or rover base speed modules are a must cause the metal weighs less than ore
all ways doing things the hard way.
Why all the small atmospheric thrusters when two large for lift should be less if not the same amount of resources?
why not add a hydrogen tank? a small would be enough… its just to fill bottles… that way when your burning ice to make the oxygen, the hydrogen doesn't just waste away…
Large atmo thrusters use less energy , 1 large atmo thruster give lift power of 5.25 small atmo thruster and using %30 less energy . You have 14 small thruster, each one can lift 9.600 kg , one large thruster can lift around 65k
love the playthrough so far, how do you get queue the assembler without going into the menu and queue them manually? is it a mod?

Absolutely no need for downward thrust when on a planet with gravity.
As usual cool siries you got going here! In case you haven't noticed you're only recharging the large batteries on the miner so they just drained any charge the small ones had.. even the first few small batteriea you added would have suffice let alone the other 13.
Just group them all and recharge and your miner will do just fine!
Stylish, but i'll stick with efficiency; your 3 drill ship is larger than my 9 drill version. 🙃

Those boulders are called meteors/meteorites.
Since you are in a crater, you will not get as much sunlight. for that reason, you should have elevated your solar panels to catch more sun
Your oxygen farm will not work as oxygen does not flow through interior wall, which is between your rotor and your hinge
