Southeast Asia’s largest energy storage system is now formally powered up in Singapore, in a boost to the country’s solar power adoption efforts. The Sembcorp facility on Jurong Island is able to power 24,000 households per discharge. It can hold a maximum of 285 megawatt-hours, exceeding the nation’s energy storage target ahead of time.

Mini-BBC didn't tell you that China is a global leader in this field?
It is Chinese solution using Chinese technologies.
Mini-BBC didn't tell you who are the manufacturer and supplier of these big power banks?
Ha ha ha!
Mini-BBC didn't tell you that tinny Singapore's greening process can't skip China?
Mini-BBC didn't tell you that China is the world's green engine?
Ha ha ha!
That's a very proactive and reliable s'pore govt. 👍👍
So why is the biggest energy storage in sea not the biggest solar farm in sea? Haha other sea countries laughing.
Electricity going up again n again despite all this wayang
24000 households per discharge, but for how long?
Just don't sell it away…
>90% Electricity is Stillĺ NOT Green
Deploy Solar but ONLY Meet 3% of Demand
Did I hear it WRONG ?
WOW What Fantastic Vision 🤣🤣
24k households? Thats approx 2.4% of total 1 million households. Its only good for bragging, reality its usefulness is negligible.
Incompetents love to brag what they hv waste $$$$ on with no due consideration for ROI, the amt of waste this project has created. Whats the batteries replacement cost? How much space are used to support 2.4% ?Price per KWH ? At best this is small scale expensive project that may not be eco friendly
I have noticed through people around me. Because of the way the newer HDB flats are being built, homeowners may realize later that it is not feasible to allow the laundry to dry naturally (by the sun or wind). In the end, many choose to purchase a dryer machine to speed up the process. If this is the way to go, then we are definitely going backward in achieving a greener environment. Can you imagine if 50% of the flats uses the dryer? This is unnecessary usage of electricity. Should the govt take this into consideration when designing flats? Old flats do not have this problem. Because of the "flawed" designing of flats, it is such a waste that we cannot fully utilize the solar energy.
Lol what’s the point of this?
More will be required in the whole of ASEAN. Should develop more!
Comments see how some are so ignorant?
naaaaahh we need a proper Nuclear Power Generation plant to keep up for next 50yrs
