This is traumatizing as I know exactly what it's like to be left to fend for oneself during (or in this case, after) the commission of a crime. It is saddening to watch and to also know that he died alone and that his final memories are of someone leaving him to fend for himself in his final moments. We have to do better, San Francisco.
