  1. Could do without the passive homophobia from some of the characters (looking at you Yosuke) but I’m also like “ah yeah I pushed down the queerness in myself for a long time without realizing”. Kanji hits hard for me personally.

  2. Can't wait for Rise-chan! Idk what it is about her, hers is usually not my type but she is my favourite P4 girl, which is strange considering that my favourites in P3 and P5 are Mitsuru and Makoto…

  3. I'm not denying that Kanji could be a closet gay/bi/whatever but I think his dungeon is more about how his chosen hobbies would be seen as gay/unmanly and how he doesn't want to be seen as such rather than about Kanji's sexuality.

  4. I know with the way society behaves now people tend to go all the way with their assumptions on these things.
But I'm pretty sure Kanji's dilemma was never really about sexuality and more about being rejected by girls in general for having interests that didn't fit the masculine stereotype, and the perils of bottling these sorts of things up, his shadow took it to a distorted extreme.

Kind of like how yukiko's shadow was about her being super thirsty and wanting to find her prince charming. In reality we know that's not really how she thinks and she just wanted to be saved from a life of working the Inn in a small town, and have the confidence to say no to that.

Kanji's realization is more about getting past the idea of gender stereotypes and finding acceptance. The game's dialogue does sometimes seem to imply different things here and I don't really know how much of this was interpretation in the Localization and how much was the original intent.

You can make a pretty solid case for Kanji to be Bi though I think because of that.
