The flashbacks are incorporated perfectly near the end, and it works perfectly with the concept of cyber-psychosis. In his mind he kills the people who were after Maine, and in his mind he lifts the car that he was stuck in after the car accident with his mom. He has the power to save all of those people now, only they aren’t around anymore. It just adds to the tragedy of it all, but it’s a beautiful way of showing that David is just a kid who misses his mom and only wants to fulfill the dreams that people have for him, so much so that they’re the only things on his mind in his final moments.
Pretty cheecky of them making the final boss of the game kill the anime MCs.
That's a new form of "Go read the fucking manga", now it's"Go play the fucking game".
Because of this damn show now whenever I hear the song I Really Want to Stay at Your House I can't help but get emotional haha.

A shout-out to my boy Falco, the Best Driver in all of Night City.
Without him they wouldn't have even made it to Arasaka Tower in time.
But changing the subject…. I still don't understand why the Bros still think that the game is so "Bad", i mean i do get that it's not close to what was promised by the developers but by the time I played it (which was right after Edgerunners came out) the game was already pretty much fixed.
And yes… It's definetly not a masterpiece nor one of my favorite games of all time…. But i did find the experience extremely satisfying, both narratively and in gameplay.

As I expected……. what great reaction guys. I cried as well. I still get tears in my eyes everytime I watch a reaction to this episode..
This ending messed me up… I broke when Rebecca got got. Bothered me probably more than David. She was such a solid character who was just the best possible friend she could've been. She definitely loved David, but instead of being selfish about it she just did what she could to be a good and supportive friend no matter what.
This ending for me is the embodiment of "don't be sad it ended, be glad it happened". Despite it all, we see David and Lucy leave with a smile.
According to what the director of this work said in an interview, the director thought about the ending in which Lucy removes the mask from her space suit when she sees a vision of him on the moon, but that would be too hopeless. It seems to have been rejected.
Just for Context there is a way to Cure Cyberpsychosis.
Mike Pondsmith, the guy who created Cyberpunk has said that cyberpsychosis can be cured by love.
It's Human connection that helps a person recover from it and love is the strongest form of connection.
That is why David is this resistant, his Love for Lucy litteraly keeps him sane.

I know some people say David was better off with Becca, but I whole-heartedly disagree. Rebecca is definitely everyone's best girl and I don't even disagree. But Lucy was just a better fit for David. Time and again Lucy opens the curtain of neon lights for David to see what's beyond Night City. David is but another cog in the wheel and he unfortunately does not know any better. Night City was his world and Lucy is the only one who ever did pull David to the side every now and then to appreciate what's beyond it.
And I think it's one of the reasons why she's the only one who can pull him out of cyberpsychosis even without immunoblockers. Try as she might, Rebecca never could. Because let's face it, all his time with Becca was spent inside Night City just being that typical merc. She was also just a merc after all. But David found something more when he's with Lucy. Something more peaceful. Something that doesn't involve guns, eddies, and/or becoming a legend. Rebecca was a real G but Lucy was David's better half.
