  1. Nice! Easy enough for me to follow, took me 10 mins. Any ideas on where to get a replacement swivel? It seems out of stock on your website and I couldn't find any on eBay. I'm gonna try epoxying my broken one and hope it works for now.

  2. They shipped me the wrong piece when I bought the XM4 piece from them (They sent the XM3 piece by accident), but I emailed them and got the right part for free within two days!

Installed, works perfectly, I recommend them!

  3. I think you forgot to mention you are going to go ahead, a few times. Hope your TPS reports are all in order and you used the new coversheets, mmmm, yeah? That would be great

  4. This is really interesting. I have a broken swivel on my XM4. Any change you have a partner or someone who ships from within Europe? The postage costs are pretty high on your store.

  5. Huge thanks for an excellent video. It took a few months for me to source the part via ebay (in the UK) but once I had it, I was able to successfully repair my headphones in less than an hour. Given how many people report this part breaking, Sony should be ashamed of themselves for not acknowledging it as a design flaw and covering its repair under their warranty. By helping me fix it myself, you saved me ~£100 (repair + postage). Thanks again.

  6. So it's the same procedure with the left side? I did the right but while I was doing it I noticed the little piece on the left side also had a crack in it

  7. Mid repair I find out that the metal clip isn't included in my purchase of the hinge. I go back to read the website listing and its clearly stated. I didnt read it. Very disappointing. What do I do if I no longer have the metal U shaped clip?

  8. Someone should just 3d print the swivel hinges for both sides and they would make a killing. This is my 2nd hinge breaking and this time its the right side.

  9. I haven't used my broken xm4's for maybe 6 months to a year now. I kept the broken pieces though, ended up gluing the broken pieces together and following this video and now I'm able to use my headphones again! Thank you 🙂

  10. THANK YOU I LOVE YOU! I bought a new hinge and that u shaped metal piece for the left side of my headphones, and got nervous because you were fixing the right side but I followed the guide and the hinge is FIXED! I hope they last and and I made sure to favorite your website so if I need any more parts I know where to get them. I also got some new earpads which so far feel fine. Again, this guide is a LIFE SAVER.

  11. Know that if you follow the link the link to buy parts, the plastic swivel DOES NOT include the metal U-shaped piece, even though the video states, "should come with this u-shaped…metal piece." My bad for not reading the entire description and trusting the video. Not wanting to pay approx. $15 more dollars and waiting for the metal clip to ship, I used an electrical ring terminal (maybe 5 cents) and fabricated a clip in maybe 10 minutes.

  13. Although the prices look pretty reasonable for individual peices, to do a meanful repair it costs a lot. Both my left and right hinges are broken as a result of which I have buy 3 tools along with 2 metal U pieces, with the 2 swivels. Thats around 100 dollars + 80 dollars shipping to where I live. For that much money I guess I would be better of buying a new pair of headphones to be honest.
