This is KFG Vol. 3, Episode 32 (Episode 516 overall)
Yeah Toriyama was big on theming for names; Saiyans are associated with vegetables, Frieza and his race have cold based puns, Piccolo and the Namekians are based on instruments. Even the Gods of Destruction and the Angels are based on alcoholic drinks.
Knowing Toriyama it probably just made it infinitely easier to name characters if he just picked a "theme" for a character group and stuck with it; he was often creatively lazy (complimentary).
For a bit more context – The Biolizard is Shadow's little brother…
