I know it might never happen, but it would be dope if they ever adapted Dark Sonic into this movie series, I’d like to see some emotional interactions with dark sonic and Tom and Maddie, then being shocked and saddened that the sweet blue hedgehog they know and love is almost crossing a line and telling sonic that that isn’t the real him
With Eggman's fate, I can imagine him miraculously surviving because it's Eggman, of course he survived! At the same time, he could indeed have died from the impact and Stone takes on his role from now on, releasing Shadow and fixates on exacting revenge on Sonic for killing Eggman.
At the same time, I'm curious to how Sonic's interactions with Shadow will go, considering this version of Sonic is a younger version of the iconic hedgehog. Would he take him seriously like he did with Eggman and Knuckles? Would he be cocky and call him a 'faker' like he does in Adventure 2? Or here's a ground breaking thought, would he be able to see Shadow as a troubled soul from losing someone he loved in a similar fashion to how he did? After all, he was able to see through Knuckles' pain when he found out his tribe and father died in the fight with Longclaw.
Sonic could easily compare Maria to Longclaw if Shadow gives vague hints to him about his upbringing. But we'll just have to wait and see.
On that note, I'm hoping the characterisation of Knuckles stays consistent and they don't just make him this punchbag dummy like Boom Knuckles. What they did with him in Sonic 2 was a breath of fresh air, and hopefully, they'll keep his character going the same way they kept Sonic's character going in these films.
