How to fix frontiers:
-Get rid of Rhea entirely, return it to unused(Idc that the towers have good plattforming. Just having this huge empty map simply makes the game less satisfying.)
-Make Chaos actually fun
-Make Ouranos more destinctive and put it into the actual story of the game.(Heck, if one really wants the towers to stay, just extend Ouranos a bit to put them here! It would explain why the Quattro of the final boss, Sage, Sonic and Eggman are already there when the final emerald hunt begins. Continuity problems getting squashed!)
And here we go: Sonic Frontiers, but now it's at least an 8 instead of a 7 out of 10. I just don't see how it's such a bad thing to scale back if it means a more focussed and better designed experience? People were legitimately concerned about emptyness, aimlessness and pacing problems prerelease and now they say they would have wanted to risk it. I never agree with the meme of "I changed it at your request and now you hate it?", but this is basically the purest form of it.
As much as I would have loved to have the full expanded version of Kronos be in the final game, if that were to be the only island, I do think it would have got boring, since it is all very much the same environment. I like the idea of the game having one large, expansive map, but you can't have it all be the exact same environment. Taking BOTW as an obvious example, the world does consist of a single enormous map, but it has different environmental biomes within that one map, each with their own distinct climate, terrain, flora & fauna, unique inhabiting races & different cultures for the player to discover. That variety keeps the singular map from becoming boring & makes exploring fun & engaging. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't set Frontiers on Angel Island, because it's the perfect already established location for such a concept & it would allow them to easily tie the story into the established lore, which they made quite a point of doing here. It would also allow them to nostalgia pander whilst still giving us new content, since we haven't seen most of Angel Island reimagined in 3D & we certainly haven't seen it in the context of one large map, it's always been split into levels. Seems like a win-win to me!
so why is this considered cut if its in the game? I heard quite a few of these through out my time playing
Hiding in any pipes line is probs a reference to the animals hiding in pipes in SA2 that you have to whistle to get out

For the square puzzle, it seems that they just had the tiles that will light up only. So it's essentially the same puzzle but the old version only had the ones that will light up.
Edit: btw the path generator puzzle is used to get to cyberspace 1-7, the city escape one. Sadly it's only used there.
I would prefer 1 big island that really feels immersive and dense with content. 3 out of the 5 islands already were the same, Ares was cool, but it really could have just been a desert area on Kronos itself. Same with Chaos island, could have still been connected. Angel Island has tons of environments. Why do the Frontiers islands all look the same throughout? Why not have Mushroom Hill, Lava Reef, and sandopolis on one island?
Also I think they should stick with the more serious voices for Amy and sonic if they wanna keep the more serious style of the writing

I think that pipes reference was for the animals in the Adventure games hiding in pipes where you have to whistle to get them out of there.
If there was any any doubts left that they were short on time, and cut corners to meet their deadline, we can put those to bedđ€·đżââïž. That said, I wouldn't have liked for the whole game to be just Kronos(even though it's almost the case), unless they made them all interconnected, like they do in metroidvanias like Hollow Knightđ€. Because I like variety, and Frontiers lacks it, in terms of landscapesđ

Honestly sega needs to increase its man power. They are relatively small compared to other studios so the extra hands would help. But here's hoping tho.
Xbox version went low cus of Jim sterling lols. That guy or girl idk what he is but they are the reason. What more do I expect lol.

7:56 I have noticed this too, its so jarring. I think a big reason for this is because as we know from early leaks, the plot for the game was different with sonic meant to have amnesia or some shit, i dont remember the exact details. I remember in the very first gamescon reveal when we first saw giganto and that ghost girl who we know is amy said "dont, its too dangerous". This voice line plays around the time you get the first cyberspace simulation flashback when they reunite the koco, and amys trying to stop them. If the plot really was different, I would assume there are older voice lines that were used for the og plot of the game, and then by the time they scratched that idea, they already had a BUNCH of voice lines done already and they couldnt put them to waste, so they just used them in the game in different ways. This is just speculation
It would also explain why I believe later in the game, the voice acting was alot more consistent, and early game it was kinda all over the place in terms of tone
Crazy how much better this game couldâve been if SEGA gave the team more time. I still loved it, but really shows the company is as incompetent as ever huh?
The reason they split the island is so the game can be longer. Luckily they didnât split it too small or Kronos wouldnât be so good
If Rhea and Kronos were one island that would've been better
I think it be interesting making this DLC island but also with another three new islands.
I donât mind ouronos island being separate from Kronos in the final build. Hell they seemingly did a good at hiding it i struggle to see how exactly it wouldâve connected on the map. But Rhea. Omg that island wasâŠoff. I get its just Northern Kronos and honestly from a story perspective the Towers being on Kronos make sense. Hell the game shouldâve just went back to Kronos and had you land in the North. Call it Kronos – Rhea region or something. That wouldâve been better in my books.

The beginning of the story is supposed to be. bit lighter hearted, like the beginning of a normal adventure, but as time goes on Sonic and team experience so much stress. And they try to convey that with voices and how sonic idles as time goes down.
