  1. Nobody, absolutely nobody I know has ever associated the attraction or the music with the movie. Not even those who are supposedly affected by it. Maybe it's just because we prefer to spend our weekends with family rather than, like some left-wing activists, binge-watching one "racist" film after another 😂. I would have just left the attraction as it was and put up some info boards to acknowledge the dark past. But whatever. Now, instead of a great attraction, we have the “Mountain of Shame.” Nothing we can do about it now. I just hope the Japanese stay strong and don’t go along with this nonsense.

  2. Unfortunately, there are rumors starting to go around that Disney is forcing the OLC to change their splash mountain. I really hope they don't bend down to their constant bribing cause I have yet to go to TDR.

  3. Oh for heaven sake. It's a song disney needs to stop removing songs. These arenhurting anyone. Most people aren't paying attention to songs when there. I think that when I go next time I will play that music on a speaker while walking. And a display has nothing to do with anything. Where does it show it being racist?

  4. What are they so afraid of? They don't seem to understand that it could be used as a teaching tool.
As Maya Angelou said "when you know better you do better"
There are many people in the diversity field who have expressed an opinion to use it as a teaching tool.
There will be people who will not understand the importance of the film. There will also be many who will be upset – some of them would get upset no matter what.

  5. "problematic" like have you been living under a rock? Everyone knows this is spin now who have studied the film at all. Tony Baxter came down and made his statement about how the attraction was cleared and they worked with the naacp. This is all Iger power tripping to believe the "problematic" narrative.

  6. I don’t think Disney can do anything about guests singing, so why don’t groups of guests start singing Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah while they are walking through the park. Bet you others will start signing also!

  7. Why would Tokyo Disney retheme Splash Mountain?
They have no financial incentive to do that. It’s perfectly maintained and extremely popular.
I don’t think Disney can force them to change. TDL is not owned or operated by Disney.

  8. I guess you want your rebel flags and your confederate monuments too along with Song of the south? Yall dont seem to care about who feels offended by what YOU like. I am a black man who first saw Song of the south as a kid in the 80s and i didnt like it at all. It was very weird and made me feel uncomfortable even back then with the way it portrayed black southern culture. I wasnt sure if it was that way all around the south or not. So I was a bit apprehensive on my first Disney trip to Florida as a kid and when I got to Magic Kingdom and saw that ride, at first all i saw was a fun looking log flume and wanted to get on it. Then I was in the queue and saw the theming and heard the music and just hated they way it made me feel. I never went back. Now at about 50, I am going back on it this weekend with the re-theming for the first time since. I do not care if an Oscar was given for this movie. It makes me and other black people feel UNCOMFORTABLE and demeaned. It does not honor our heritage, but diminishes it. I am glad it is gone and hope Disney continues to purge it. Just bc something existed, does not mean we need to honor or revere it.

  9. Too bad Be Our Guest Vacations can’t help out with that Tokyo Disney trip… nor Disneyland Paris… not Shanghai Disneyland… maybe suggest to them they should offer those options 😢

  10. It has become a TOTAL DISGRACE what Disney has done to James Baskett, the movie Song of the South and Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, and Splash Mountain with erasing them from Disney's History. They were ALL fantastic. There is NOTHING offensive or racist about any of them. Disney's agenda of destroying and erasing Walt Disney's dream over a offensive, LGBTQ and racist WOKE cancel culture cult that has and is destroying the company.

  11. Do you think in Animal Kingdom they will preserve the triceratops spin and re-theme it to toy story and put it in toy story land because they could use another capacity ride and that is a capacity ride and they have plenty of space and toy story land for it it. I can’t see them scrapping an actual good ride

  12. Tom, the vast majority of us that watch you know you're not a "shill". When you constantly make little comments/jokes about it, it only encourages those who do to keep making comments because it confirms it gets under your skin. Stop worrying about idiots.
