Hogwarts Legacy Documentary was supposed to come out last year, but there’s no sight of it and the developers are silent about it. Why? Why go into hiding mode when new content and updates are soon to come to the game? Or maybe the doc has some info they don’t want to release just yet? Let’s talk!

Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest DLC will come to all platforms later this summer alongside other additional updates and features, developers say. What those features will be is a question, but I hope it includes a brand new quest and or a new dungeon(s) with a new cosmetic pack, new enemies and a few more spells.

It's been nearly half a year since they announced the documentary (correct me if I'm wrong but was that announced on back to Hogwarts Day, Sept 1st?) so I agree with the second theory, I think it probably does have some info that can't be revealed yet. My personal theory is that once it's announced what the "additional updates and features" are, so will the documentary release date. They could coincide at the same time to bring the hype back.
I think I´ll agree with the theory number 2. But it could be something else, we don´t know about.🤔
They’ll probably release it in the next few months along with the rest of the news about the updates.
Perhaps they want to wait and release it along side with the update that will come this summer for Hogwarts Legacy to promote the game.
I just hope we get a backstory on the Mc it’s crazy we don’t know anything about he/she frl like do we have any siblings or something I never knew they was also working on a documentary but we need it 💯

Don't know what to say about this. But all the dcl addtional things that were coming on the anniversary didn't arrive for me. Felix Felicis potion, Minding Your Own Business dungeon, and a couple of other things that was suposse to b come out on DLC on Feb 7th. I've got a PS4, so do I have to wait until May 5th when it came out for that system?
Tell me, do all things of DLC appear in the Additional Content in the main manu?
Really strikes me like some arbitrary decision made by a WB executive.
I mean sensitive information could simply be cut away so it is probably something else. Or the staff is scrambled to help with the catastrophic suicide squad

This is an extremely insightful video, Ben! I'm no longer an insider, but you are picking up on many of the signs that I've been noticing too.
My thought here is that Hogwarts Legacy was so successful that it has become a centerpiece for the entire WB company. This means that there will be even more executive oversight and PR review for everything HL related than there was previously. So, my guess is that the PR and executive teams are smothering the local Avalanche Community Team that you guys all know and love so much (Chandler and friends) and won't let them "do their thing" anymore.
Consider: The Community Team wouldn't have announced a documentary by the end of 2023 if they didn't think they could have delivered it. The fact that it hasn't been released yet is concerning. You are right to suspect that something must've happened.
I gotta be honest here. My biggest fear for the future of Hogwarts Legacy is that it could become a victim of its own success. All those executives who have been running all those other failing WB projects are now casting their hooks into the one thing that is doing well for the company. All of them are going to want a piece of the action and are going to try and "get their stink" on any future HL games so they can claim involvement in the biggest thing going company-wide.
IMO, the best thing the WB Executive Team could do would be to let Avalanche make a sequel that simply iterates and improves upon the first game by incorporating as much of what the fans want as possible. They don't need to re-invent the whole game, just take what's there as a foundation and build upon it: Fix the problems, fill in the missing bits and features, create new stories centered around the students, and include as much lore and additional fan service as possible – and they'll be on the right track.
However, the fact that they haven't released the documentary could be due to "Product Positioning" such that the executive team is still trying to figure out how they want to introduce fans to a potential sequel and so they won't let the Community Team do anything until they figure things out themselves. There could easily be a push from all those additional executives swooping down on the game to take HL in a "bold new direction" and make it into a live service, micro-transaction, multi-player looter-shooter aimed at competing with Fortnite or something. Executives can sometimes be notoriously stupid like that.
In any case, I think the change you've detected in how the Avalanche Community Team is interacting with the fans is real. To me, it suggests new layers of heavy executive involvement and PR oversight. And it concerns me for the future of HL.
They probably added stuff from the work on the dlc and reactions from the team about the success of the game
I was really looking forward to that documentary. I thought they already released one though so I was a bit confused, because I'm pretty sure there was a full length video about the behind the scenes of the game. Also, I feel like I'm the only one actively asking Chandler and the company about the shirts. They had said there would be more after Ominis, but we haven't gotten anything else 🙁
My opinion is that they didn't plan any updates for the game and since they changed their mind they figured out it would be better for them to release the documentary to build up the hype for the update. Another thing is, Hogwarts Legacy became the best selling game of the year. A few months back, they didn't know that so they might've wanted to add something new to the video like the reaction of the Avalanche when they heard how successful the game has become and to make official announcements about future projects that were greenlit quite recently.

It could be one of the projects scrapped by WB. They did srcap acme vs coyote fairly recently though why they would do that I don’t know.
I think it’s simply a matter of they forgot. Happens all the time in the real world. Humans forget things that other humans remember. Simple.
As a person who's working in marketing I would agree on that it might be a case of they made a cut ready to publish but there were elements that promote something more than Switch version. Possibly WB didn't want it to be shown at the moment so they were in decision of cuting this off fom the documentary or wait to publish it when there would be a time for it, and beacuse of SSquad IP they need to wait, cause they are promoting other IP.
So when they will be done with it then it will be a corrrect time to publish documentary. Fact that Avalanche team are so open in communication tell us that if it would be an technical issue, they would just say it. Maybe the documentary will be updated more on new things but I'm sure they will publish it eventually.
Ah game I bought. It was crashing all the time on max setting so I refunded it and completely forgot about 😀 Where there any new dlc, mission pack or something released after that Dark arts crap or is dead without any updates and so on? I am still thinking about buy it again maybe.
I'd think they had a ready documentary and a finished game with no plans to expand it further. Then it was very successful they did get an OK to do some more small updates (noone said DLC, they said more along the lines of function updates). Thus now they have a whole new part to the documentary in which they talk about their process of that and that content/those functions and how they felt about the game doing well. Thus the documentary cannot be released before those updates in summer and they could not yet say anything because there's no schedule yet etc. + they might wanna wait out timing to not pull attention from the other big thing you mentioned. Aka maybe they do not wanna say anything yet cause they can't say cause they're not yet sure when to do what + need the permissions for all of this. And they're not giving an explanation yet cause they're waiting out a better timing, attention wise.
At least that is my current theory just going from what you mentioned in the video.
Either way I really don't appreciate fear-mongering and clickbait titles. Aka there's nothing but speculation in here and I sure wish there was a [SPEC] tag on such videos. It's annoying to wait for news and then you see videos that might be news but it's spec. Have fun with spec but own that it's spec and let ppl choose what they wanna see and not

My immediate thought was that it talked about features and settings they were considering having in the 1st game, then cut. So they're worried that people would just be upset because the game could have been even cooler.

Kinda seems like they don’t want to release it after certain parts of said documentary had WB blatant corporate greed on full display through this Documentary. & completely canned this entire documentary project altogether as soon as it was publicly announced to cover it up..
Like cancelling all plans for any future Singleplayer DLC Expansion Content of any kind because WB don’t want TO JUST GIVE people exactly what they wanted FOR FREE & without for any Moneytiseation strings attached in return.
Instead they’re going to underhandedly take what they stripped from the Hogwarts Legacy game & use every single idea and feature they removed. Turn each of them into a separate live service, Mobile Gotchya game projects to maximise profits on the HP IP.
To them & their corporate executives/shareholders it makes absolutely no business sense not to take all of fan community ideas, turn each & every one of them into a scam project to exploit their customers..
Basically this documentary would’ve reduced to have been a large laundry list of cancelled projects showing everyone what could’ve been which would’ve painted WB in a really bad light in the process. 🤨
