Something is OFF Right Now at Walt Disney World | Magic Kingdom October 2023 Park Updates!!

In today’s video I make my way to Disney’s Magic Kingdom to see exactly what is happening right now at the park as we are entering the month of October. The crowd level was extremely light and all of the wait times were below 50 minutes which was awesome but something is definitely off at Walt Disney World currently. I ask the question if right now is the perfect time to make the trip here due to the crowd level. Next, I take you on Pirates of the Caribbean and TRON light cycle run for some fun. I also discuss some of the recent announcements coming from Disney. Finally, I take you around the park for some major updates. Thank you so much for watching, if you enjoyed this video please give it a big thumbs up!

  1. I feel like it HAS to be price. Disney's pricing is absolutely out of control. When you compare what you get at the other parks versus just the price to get into any of the Disney parks it becomes really easy to justify skipping anything Disney related. It makes me sad because I love Disney, but the other parks have absolutely been stepping up their game and making it worth a trip!

  2. Disney did this to themselves
I would NEVER have been burned our on Disney if they hadnt attacked families. It's a shame, but u less so.erhing chamges drastically, Disney will conrinue to fall, and rightly so.

  3. Remember that before the weird, super huge, crushing post-pandemic crowds, it was well-known that Disney World genuinely had "peak" and "off-peak" times. And it wasn't 30 years ago. It was more like 2016/17. Disney never really embraced their "off-peak" times like the guests did, so they slowly started adding more festivals, etc., to try and bump up attendance all year. The videos I'm seeing lately are more like the old days used to be in early fall. We always used to go Sept-Nov because kids were back in school and the major holidays hadn't started yet. You could actually walk, breathe, and make restaurant reservations. Disney World has seemed more normal to me lately than the elbow-to-elbow craziness of the past few years.

  4. The lower attendance has to have a lot to do with there not being new, generic merch and the big sale they had. If people aren't going into the store to buy stuff, there is no room on the shelves for new. Price absolutely has something to do with it, but traffic would too.

  5. Have to agree on the merch, it is sooooo overpriced !! If they sold it at a reasonable price they would sell loads 😁
I would only wear disney clothes at the parks, not in my everyday life 😂

  6. We were in Orlando the other week, we even saw you and briefly spoke it was great to meet you. The crowds when we were there were really low all round. We got every ride bar Slinky's done in Hollywood studios, every ride bar peter pan and seven dwarfs in magic kingdom and all the rides in Epcot except for ratatouille. Even Universal and IOA were low crowds until HHN. The longest queues we waited in were 40 minutes and that was for Guardians and Hagrids so even they were huge wins. For us we thought the low crowds were due to schools, the hurricane, the prices and the heat

  7. its generally well known that days that the mk shuts down at 6pm for parties are low attendance as people want to spend a whole day there. I was there wends when they were open the full day and there was no shortage of humans.

  8. The companies stock is tanking , they have turned their backs on loyal supporters , and keep raising prices . Disney is off by miles from their firmer glory . I used to visit three times a year from DC but I haven’t been back in 2 years after my last experience.

  9. I know it’s not 100% inflation causing low attendance, because I just went to universal studios the other day and it was super packed! The amt of people and wait times were crazy. I personally think people are sick of Disney and all their stupidity with politics and trying to push DEI onto families with small children. Walt Disney created the original Disneyland for family friendly entertainment where a kid could be a kid and not have to worry about anything else. Magical place, and the folks hired to run Disney are screwing everything up!!

  10. I feel like Disney has lost its magic and the high prices are turning people away. I have turned away from Disney and more towards universal and I am much happier with the Universal IP’s and the new park is going to be amazing.

  11. Here is what I believe: Disney alienated many, many, loyal customers with recent repugnant decisions. I am a DVC owner. When we visit the parks, we use our DVC property to sleep at. We rent a car and go to Universal. Our goal is to spend as little on WDW property as humanly possible to punish DIS. They made me very angry right arond the Pandemic closings. First, Chapek said annual passholder business was not as valuable to DIS as their day guests. I let my AP lapse immediately. Then they announced that Magical Express was being eliminated. They sold that as being for my convenience. I don't see how incurring extra costs to get to their resort is convenient for me! Then they hit us with Tix increases, & food increases across all the resorts multiple times per year; as if it were not profitable/expensive enough. The final straw was eliminating the 3 complimentary Fast Passes and charging for Genie+ and Lightning Lane. Add in no nightime parade for a long time & those stupid automated photography machines instead of Photopass Photographers, not to mention they removed free Memory Maker from the aforementioned annual passes. All of that AND multiple price increases while taking benefits away from the price of admission…I'm done.

The real icing on the cake was my Dec 2022 Birthday trip to Pebble Beach Resort. For $750/Night I got:

    Daily housekeeping
They sent free Chocolate Covered Strawberries to my room for my Birthday!
    Complimentary Valet Parking
    Complimentary Soda in room
Complimentary Miss Vickies snacks in room
Complimentary bottled water, coffee & tea in room
Nightly turn down service; gas fireplace on, sheets pulled down, and chocolate mints on my pillow.

Disney is a low class dump…period. They charge Deluxe prices for their run down piece of feces…that is why attendance is down. I hope the Atlantic Ocean swallows WDW whole to be honest…it would serve them right to experience a total loss from such a catastrophic flood. I'm praying it happens in my lifetime.

  12. Personally I haven’t been back since they raised the ticket prices and took away free fast passes. I’m tired of being nickel and dimed by them. It seemed like they tried to get away from the lower and middle class consumers and we said screw them and went elsewhere.

  13. It is true Disney priced me out from buying as much merch as I used to. i used to have an annual pass for myself and family I let that go also. We loved the spontaneity of coming up to the parks and have staycations a few times a year but with the reservation system we let them go and only been to the parks once this year. and may not go again till next year. I think Disney after the past couple years had killed the magic that once was.

  14. It's simple. People know Disney is gouging them… badly… universal is offering a great product and takes care of its guests. When you have a super successful business and start believing people will show up regardless of product the slide gets slippery fast.

  15. I just go back and had a great time. It was nice not to have to fight the crowds (just wish it hadn’t been so hot lol). I think there will always be diehard Disney fans like me. As far as merch. I think it’s more about there being too much merch. They were cranking out so much it was overwhelming (I came back with less merch than I ever have before . Plus I was on a tight budget this trip and it was more about the experience than the merch). And as far as Universal, if you are into universal of course you are going to go there (but it’s not for everyone). It’s just not my vibe and I don’t do scary 🥴. And most of the rides there are more for thrill seekers. Those with small kids (or those of us who are not roller coaster riders and love the Disney magic) will always head to Disney. The economy and the political stuff (on both sides) also have a lot to do with it I think (lower crowds). Plus schools are in full swing.

  16. I was at animal kingdom and hollywood studios last weekend two different days and it was slammed. Your there probably on a week day. I assure you what your seeing is normal. Not a representation of a poor economy. What weve had from the past couple of years was not normal. This is normal. Also halloween horror nights is super busy on weekends but try going on a Wednesday and it wont he as busy either i assure you.

  17. Recent Disney management has been slapping their family customers in the face for almost 6 years now. Disney management pushing Woke anti family messages and charging much much more for much much less.
Disney’s last 9 films lost over 1 billion $s. Universal Animation has creamed Disney animation the last 4 years in a row in $s.
Takes time for customers to get the message that they are not guests at Disney anymore.
Halloween Horror Nights is causing early park closures at their parks and you can still barely walk through the crowds.

  18. Hey, I met you at Universal a few weeks ago! Our trip had been paid for for 2 years aside from gas and food. We had a budget set back for our trip which was 3 days at Universal for 6 ppl, 1 night MNSSHP for 3 ppl , and 1 night HHN for 4 ppl. We only ate 1 restaurant a day ($100-200), and didn't buy any extras except an HP wand. That trip put us behind financially even though we thought we'd set aside a big enough budget. Money is tough on everyone right now and I think that's the main problem.

Sidenote: we walked onto almost every ride during MNSSHP even though the crowds were insane!

  19. If you've never been to Disney and really want to go, go now, it has 2 years left before it dies out here in Florida. It was ALWAYS CRAZY BUSY, 7 days a week, we always had annual passes for decades. Now it's busy only on the weekends.
