  1. Many MDs are failed veterinarians. They have to master a far broader and more complex set of skills and information than MDs, which probably makes them think the average person is far dumber than they are.

  2. In reference to your reread of Iris M….have you EVER done a reread of an author's work and radically changed your viewpoint on their work for the better? If so WHO and what percent of your attempts result in a raised opinion?? Personally I can't see how a 1000 rereads of Iris could make them any better…..i have tried several times through the years. Enjoy your good weather and ❤️ to F!

  3. Yup even the good vets over-explain stuff…and I don’t know everything about dogs but I do know what you told me a minute ago, and 3 minutes ago, and 5 minutes ago…

Maybe they want to pad out the time to explain the ludicrous overcharging for basically doing nothing most of the time….

  4. Our current vet is actually quite good. Our previous one lied to us at a crucial point with our 4 Yr old German shepherd (they told us they'd ran tests that they hadn't done to diagnose his seizures – we found out that they'd actually only tested for two things, but charged us for a comprehensive bloodtest for any eventuality) – sadly, he died from a massive seizure a couple of months later. I honestly wanted to burn the building to the ground for costing me my baby boy. I still make sure to tell anyone and everyone that they are utterly irresponsible and don't care about the dogs they "treat". It absolutely destroyed us. He was the best, most loving, and most handsome boy. I miss him every day.
Thankfully the vet where we take my baby girl Quinzel are knowledgeable, decent, and actually care. And they don't condescend to us at all.

  5. The only vets I have liked are the wonderful men in All Creatures Great and Small. And look at that gorgeous Murdoch collection! I am eager to see if the pretty editions are enough to make you want to keep the author’s works on your shelves…

  6. Ramsey Campbell is perhaps the world's most decorated author of horror, terror, suspense, dark fantasy, and supernatural fiction. He has won four World Fantasy Awards, ten British Fantasy Awards, three Bram Stoker Awards, and the Horror Writers' Association's Lifetime Achievement Award, and has been named a Grand Master of Horror.

  7. I have to praise our vet. One of my dogs had spinal surgery right before lockdown and the vet came to the house to check on her several times. She has to have monthly injections now and he comes to the house every time so she doesn’t have to painfully get in the car. We live in the country in Ireland. On the other hand when we rang our GP during lockdown we got a recording saying they were busy with covid. We are always saying if we really need help ring the vet!

  8. Fun video! I am going to go out on a limb and say your vet issue is due to being in the big city. Here in my rural, country area, the vets see crazy stuff and the owners don’t want to discuss anything. My neighbor uses cow tags on his dogs for ticks! People are bothered to be there at all. My vet is caring and willing to try things that arent his normal solutions and I love that! Plus I can email him a picture and he will discuss what the problem might be. Come on over to the country and save some $$-thanks Steve for your continuing books…
