Solo Overland in an Arizona Sky Island and Monologue

Join me for a solo adventure in the Arizona sky island mountain range of the pinalenos, also known as mt. Graham. This range has many dirt roads, not a ton of 4 wheel drive action but some outstanding camping sites for overland and car camping. This video is more of a monologue format of my back story.

  1. Thx for your simple approach to your videos. I particularly appreciate the historical content. I'm very tired of overlanders showing off their expensive gadgets.
Keep up the hard work! Peter

  2. Another awesome job son. Solo adventures can be very soothing to the sole but can also be quite lonesome at times on long occasions. Having Mila there with you is the best companion for any occasion. Love it/Love you Pop…

  3. Ive watched since day one, before it was White Dog Overland. Love the channel, and the way you present it
But to see this more vulnerable side, and to hear how you got Mila, we could hear the love in your voice.
I gained a whole new respect for you young man

  4. Nice to meet you! You are going down a good path with your ideas and thoughts on life and how to live it. See you out there, we crossed paths once while you were panning for gold way back in Gardner Canyon. My wife and me were enjoying a breakfast burrito and taking in early spring. Good times!

  5. Nice video man good shots! I love Mt. Graham! I recommend that you visit the west peak area on the northwest side of the Pinalenos. There's a dirt road that takes you up there called Tripp Canyon Road. Very nice secluded area of the Pinalenos.

  6. Thanks for the great video, as always! My husband was watching one of your videos as some javelina came into our yard, so while I was taking a video your music was playing, it really seemed to fit. 😉❤️ I think it might have been a different video, but I wasn’t sure which so I gave credit to your most recent video. I really really love your drone footage,’having been to many of the same places but never had that perspective. We just joined your patreon and love your heart and content! ❤

  7. Hey man, been following you for almost a couple yrs now (I think), and this might be my favorite video. I re watched your video on Valles Caldera in NM, and found the exact campsite you guys stayed in the first night. I hope my mostly stock Frontier can make it through those rocks. Going there this weekend, and have a few more sites marked on OnX in case the first one is taken. I'm kind of a solo overlander, but hoping to get more friends to go out once they see how awesome it is. Mila (sp) is an awesome dog. My last dog, and current dog are both rescues, and I couldn't have chosen any better. When you come to NM next mo, it would be cool to meet for a quick beer. Thanks so much for your content!

  8. Hi Cody! Don't sweat the vehicle too much… or the lack of cooking… other channels are too hung up on those things… I think most tune in for your adventures, cinematography and you! I've actually become very accustomed to solo with my dog… it's actually how I live… (Single and Retired) the connection to nature and the vibe is better for me this way. I do camp with friends and family on occasion… but I'm out there in those times for a different reason, and recognizing the difference is important… you have to do what it is you need… sleep out in the wild is better… probably for the reasons you mention, and also being further from everyday societal problems… at least for me. Breakdowns solo is a problem. Im 61, so that exacerbates it for me, but I just make sure my truck is in the best mechanical condition I can before going, and if I'm unsure of it, I try not to go out too far until I get it mechanically sound.
Really good to hear you talk about you! Thanks for sharing!
