    Hello, Vietnamese here.
    Buddhist temples have funeral services where they keep the ashes of the deceased in the temple to help guide their soul to the after life. The chanting should be the mantra, they are Sankrit language in Vietnamese accent.

    I have never seen anything similar the story but there is a belief that if a soul stuck in the mortal world for too long, they will gradually corrupt, lost their form and become something monstrous.

    So if a place where soul rest was destroyed by the war and they got stuck, something like that may very well come to existence and boy corrupted spirits are hella strong, so strong that they can cause phenomenon similar to demon possession in other western story

  24. Those Vietnam Vets don’t mess around. Very serious. Saw too much. Suffered too much. I have been around enough of them to attest to that. I believe your grandpa Joe 100 %. And thank him for his service. My mother’s friend is a Vietnam Veteran. A sniper first for the military then the government. Let me tell you he has some stories. And being a stoic man, I believe every word he says.
