Today, we return to the ruinous realms of Solasta! A new DLC is about to drop and Iโ€™ve been chomping at the bit for more Tactical Adventure, so letโ€™s get this party started!

If you haven't already tried out Solasta, then this might be a good time to check it out.
The core game and Primal Calling DLC will both be deeply discounted from April 14th to the 21st!

Oh, and you can see my rambling thoughts on the party planning over here:

  2. Great to see you try this. As a beta tester I have played this both single and Multiplayer and loved it, although I haven't played the version being released tomorrow. I really enjoyed playing the new sub classes and the multiple routes definitely add to the replayabillity.

The Barbarian will lose his bonus AC if he wears armour, so it's often better not to as his DEX and CON increase. However the Empress Garb doesn't count as armour and I had my Barbarian with 20 CON and DEX, plus magic trinkets, end up with an AC of 35.

For the spellmage, you could consider choosing the +1AC skill, that way you can start with 2H weapon and later go sword and board should you wish.

I completely agree with twin cast for Sorcerers. It is awesome. Double haste and greater invisibility are very OP.

I love Druids early on, entangle and spike growth are awesome. However later on they struggle as so many spells rely on concentration.

  3. Not sure how it's executed in Solasta, but reckless attack is excellent on a barbarian in part because it grants advantage. With half damage while raging and a subclass that grants temp hit points, you're really happy if enemies are targeting your barb, even if they hit more often since they'll effectively do much less damage overall.

  4. in 5e darkvision is not "I can see in the dark" it makes darkness into dim light and dim light into bright light. in dim light the character has disadvantage on perception checks involving sight, so still a good idea to have a light source. also wild shape is very good, especially if your druid is low on HP, you gain all the stats including HP of the beast you become. at higher levels the druid can even gain flight. someone else already covered the benefits of reckless attack.

  5. Oooh, barbarian! With a very polite tone too, very funny. I'm down for this series.

Not to be a graphics snob or anything, I cant run anything above medium myself, but the textures on the clothes/armor seem to be worse than I recall from the main campaign?

  6. That point when the DM realises he may have put in too tough a bad guy (even if they had aced every other encounter he had put in front of them ๐Ÿ™‚ ) Worst part of this is I have to wait to play ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Frigging love this game. There are some excellent community campaigns…even ones inspired by Moldvay era modules.
So glad there's a paid campaign DLC too. Congrats to RR for the early access and presenting it here.

  8. Well that was the fastest beginning I have ever seen. It kinda bugs me that they would throw something that high of a level at you. But it was still nice too see that deadly still exists. Maybe we will see you next time take more of a cara pace. Love it Retcon.

  9. Dev are evil give the armor how make the most noise to bait player, enemies will ear yours characters 3 room away, never move the whole party in, go with the best sneaking that way only one be expose, the others may sorprise acciรณns, all this is avise with no bad fate or mandate

  10. With any luck the issues concerning (endgame)quests will be fixed by the time Mr. Retcon gets to them. I really wish the party size was 6 rather than 4 to fit some whacky shenanigans, admittedly the spellblade wouldn't fit into a single one of my parties even if the size was unlimited. Fighters in general feel really lackluster to me, could have something to do with the levelcap being 12, at 10 there was no reason to ever make a fighter and even at 12 it feels off. Barbarians and paladins just do what a fighter does so much better (except archery and dual wielding, rangers do those better than fighters).
