  1. I first heard of the Titantic when A@E in 1994 when there was a two parter called DEATH OF A DREAM and THE LEGEND LIVES ON. At the end it mentioned James Cameron's newmovie in 1997. I have loved TITANTIC ever since. Such a sad story. Glad I have found your channel. Not just TITANTIC but any maritime story. I did The queen Mary and saw the Titantic story and got three replica newspapers of the disaster. I look at them often. So many people must have been so shocked to read about that TITANTIC. I will continue to love this channels. Glad everything is good for you.

  4. WOW, SAM, SINCERE THANKS FOR SHARING – I didn’t know anything about the ‘maiden voyage’ book suggesting the Titanic should be raised! I just bought a 1988 edition of it on eBay, delivered for less than £4! Can’t wait to read it!! Thanks again from UK!

  5. That time on a stream when I asked if titanic sank be lusi don't lusi got more safety features, what I ment to say was If Titanic sank before Lustania why didn't the Lustania get more safety features (you know just… stuff em in there.)

  6. Do you think you could do a video series of passenger/ocean liner model kits? Specifically which ones are the most historically accurate, worth the money, your own collection, etc. What are some of your preferences for searching for models?
Im currently narrowing my selection down to either the Minicraft 1:350 or Academy 1:400 Titanic models. My ultimate goal is to save up and get the 1:200 Titanic model by Trumpeter, though finding a place to put it would be a challenge.

  8. I'm glad you liked the little gifts, Sam.
I'll continue trying to find old liner postcards for you. I fear going older than 1905 won't be easy though 🤭

  9. I've just been thinking, since you covered U-20 in the last video and you will need a new timeline series for a ship, why not one of the big German liners. Since they were competitors to both Cunard and White Star

  11. History Travels, can you do a video on if the titanic would have survived longer if they had moved all the passengers not working to keep the boat afloat to the back of the boat? By some fast calculations I think they could move around 1800 people to the back equaling around 140 tons of weight. This would have moved the center of gravity way back counteracting the sinking in the front which in turn might have stopped the water from overflowing the bulk heads, at least for a time.

A similar move was done on the ss arctic in 1854 to pull some of the damaged section out of the water and slow sinking. It might not have any effect on the titanic, but I cant help wondering if an outside the box solution like this would have helped.

  12. Hey Sam, idk if you've ever heard of the SS Arctic disaster but you should definitely look into it, it's one of the more bizarre and tragic shipwreck incidents in history involving a collision with another ship and the ensuing anarchy/mutiny with 80ish survivors and 320 fatalities. The details of this one are very different from what you're used to I'd bet.

The Arctic is a Paddle Steamer from the 1850's.

  13. When I started watching your channel it brought back the memories from my childhood watching Titanic 1997. And at the time, when I was younger I literally could resite the entire movie from start to finish and made a cardboard titanic out of HO scale train boxes and toilet paper rolls. I had a huge Titanic flip out page book that I took out of the library every time it was available. And at the time, I never even knew Titanic was only the Second of 3 I found a section in another Titanic book about Olympic and Titanic. But looking at it when I was younger I thought it was about the possibility of the future of Titanic if she hadn't hit the Iceberg.

  14. I'm Australian and am curious to know if all the portholes were closed on the Britannic, would it been able to be beached, instead of sinking?Bearing in mind she was barely 2 kilometres from land when she struck the mine.
