I played Assassin’s Creed Shadows this week for about 4 hours during a Ubisoft preview event. And in this video, I’m going to share my first impressions of the game, go over some of the new features and give you an idea of what Shadows is all about.
So the TLDR is – I have very mixed feelings about Assassin’s Creed Shadows so far. As much fun as it is to meme on Ubisoft and talk like Shadows is the worst thing ever – I don’t think it’s a bad game. But I don’t think this will be some revolutionary next generation title that pushes the series further. Ubisoft has dubbed this the ultimate Assassin’s Creed game, and while there are some new ideas – this really does just feel like more of the same formula that we’ve seen in Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla.

Imma be honest here: of course there are some things that need to be fixed, but i don't think it looks bad at all, i always wanted an AC in feudal Japan, so i definitively gonna play it, but i know we gotta be careful with ubisoft these days.
Naoi kinda reminds me of those people that ezio recruited for his creed it makes sense in a way that ezio was master assassin so he was literally master at sword fighting and assassination but Naoi is not
The other thing Desmond was special because his ancestors were special but these new ac protagonists are some random assassin in a way
Last thing is i hate leveled npc bruh whole old ac games had no lvl for the enemies they were like you see these are the marksman and these are brutes(and so one that each has some thing special) and because they had no lvl we had those penta kills that Connor would have execute
I still miss those kick in the ball and hit with weapons in ac brotherhood
How did you get demo of AC Shadow.
The combat looks so bad.
lmao a African samurai , dei at its worst. woke trash
I dig the assassination block, no eagle and location clues. Less handholding always nice. That said, they should be optional for those that want it
Sounds like odyssey but worse, now you can't even be stealthy as yasuke.
You clared out a whole base with just the bird😂😂😂 Please dont talk CRAP, that is impossible.
Lose the black or you will never bounce back.
am I the only one baffled by the PC specs?
RTX3060ti for 60fps/1080p medium AND with upscaling???
I mean I shouldn't be shocked by this but the game doesn't look that different from previous games…
Finally some honest opinions and criticism.
man… I wasn't even playing on buying it, but now with ray tracing forced, I'm not buying it for sure!
Hmmm, nah, think I’ll just buy KCD II 😂
So they have a place in the game where they sell stuff? That's so like ubisoft…that's why I never buy their trash
Never played AC. But, for me, an assassin is someone who does not want to be known (or seen in many cases). But seeing the gameplay, i see a brute tank running around, mowing everyone down. And I am supposed to believe nobody knows who he is? I am asking why a rival does not put a bounty on Yeske (however its spelled) and take him out. Not like the big dude is hiding.
And that's not even mentioning the "color" factor.
Hello can someone tell me if assassin's Creed Black Flag is worth it on ps5? Considering that I never played other AC games (sorry for my English)
That combat looks like it's going to be tedious and very easy… As a Hardcore gamer… I made a decision to not play AC games from the 4th Ezio saga… I play games for story and also to be challenged… I enjoy it when games push me to the brink of a rage quit .. but i could never…
I don’t know why i keep watching videos about modern slop. I stopped buying that shit 2/3 years ago.
I'm not sure I'd play the game even if I got it for free. Ubisoft open world games are just miserable timesinks. Like you have 10% good(ish) content and the rest is just mediocre sidequests and busywork around every corner. There are defintaly better ways to kill 100+ hours
thank you for being so honest with the preview… for me i will wait after months of post release.
im not wasting my money on that mess i wont support political stunts or literal culture disrespect … i'll just say it you buy this game your a racist no sugar coating it if you dont think so . ask a japanese person still dont think so well thats too bad the reality doesnt change and your outnumbered with an entire country agreeing your racist
More of the same is pretty good.
Big Dan your son handsome, plus the gameplay looks terrible, another Ubisoft L.
I haven't played an AC game in ages; I feel like I'm losing my mind, but didn't combat used to be way more lethal? I.e, in open combat, if you didn't parry/dodge and counter consistently, you died, end of story. On the other hand, when you did those counters, THEY died, end of story. WTF is this "slice an opponent 30 times to do a pinch of damage" crap? Naoe had some cool finisher animations in this video that the enemy just..walked off like it was nothing? WTF is this XD
Man this channel and this community really has turned into just hating everything it’s sad not what it was about at first
Go woke go broke
Black samurai wtf. DEI ruined Ubisoft
Story? Side quests? Fun factor? Exploration?
@8:39 seen that before…ninja gaiden or something.
Yep I won’t waste my money
It's a woke game with stolen ideas, nothing new, not respecting the history of Japan, and the same mechanics like the old AC games. I'm going past this one, and it's going to fail.
So basically just play Ghost of Tsushima or wait for Yotei.
For realism/grounded ninjas play Ghost of Tsushima.
For crazy ninja fantasy play Ninja Gaiden. We just had a remake of the second game uncensored and improved. And the 4th installment has been announced.
There are better alternatives than Ubisoft’s trash. Ubisoft, BioWare, and Rocksteady can all implode. The old crew who made those companies great already left. No need to stick around sticking husks.
Reading a lot of these comments is funny to me. It really shows where Ubisoft went wrong. With the never titles they changed so much that they started alienating their old base. But going back alienates their never base. So instead of going all out with one way, they try this complicated balance of both and it sounds like it's failing. At least as a fan of the old games, I don't really see how this is a return to the roots at all.
Look at all the crying "man" 🤣
I got an idea, do your own games.
But seious…on the one hand you cry about "everything is the same" and on the other hand you cry about: "It is not like Ghost of Tsushima"…okay…GOT IT!
Ubisoft deserves to go bankrupt. Endless drivel. Employing Baby Inc, etc. I hope it will send a message to other studios. We don't like woke shyt!
Parkour is definitely better than in Ghost of Tsushima. And stealth as well. Ghost of Tsushima is a samurai game, which tries to make Jin a shinobi as well, but does it poorly. Assassin's Creed is for the most part a stealth game, but looking at the combat, it looks also very good in that area.
Ubisoft employees should get comfortable looking for new jobs. NONBUYNARY!
I dont even care about the whole Yasuke drama, but just seeing the same leveled world/loot/enemies already puts me off. Im tired of the same formula over and over again. I remember the first time i played Origins, i was hunting for hyena pelts to upgrade my gear, i crossed the border to a higher level region without noticing and the same hyenas where lvl 10 and they one shot me and took like 10 hits to kill. It doesn't make any sense, its not a different enemy with more armor and better weapons, its a fucking hyena! They present the game as open world but then artificially lock you into a progression path to the different areas forcing you to grind exp to go explore a different region that has more of the same. What is "difficulty" in Ubisoft games? enemies have more hp. That's it. Instead of better AI and combat mechanics, each enemy has like 3 attacks, which makes combat repetitive af and "increasing difficulty" only makes combat last longer, not more challenging, just boring.
7:37 Thank you for letting me know not to buy this game
Assassins creed died with Desmond.
So this is Valhalla with a Japanese skin. No thank you
I was watching the hidden one play the preview of Shadows apparently you've got a change from yes K to Norway to do the viewpoints because he can't climb up there the game looks buggy junk the last AC game I brought brand new with Origins I waited for Odyssey and Valhalla to be cheap second-hand played through it got bored and sold them on 4 months ago I looked on my hard drive of my Xbox console and found they removed and took back all the DLC all the extra content that I brought for all my AC games paid out of my own money an Ubisoft are pretty much how don't give a f*** if you want it buy it back so f*** Xbox assassin Creed died a long time ago I'm in the process of selling my Xbox consoles
