Small Terracotta Sand Battery Cooks Three Meals in One Day

My newest terracotta sand battery powered by one toaster element plate is performing fantastic. I removed a portion of the sand, and I am totally amazed at what I can cook in it and how tender and well done everything comes out all on just one 275-watt 24 volt rated solar panel. So, now I am rethinking the pizza oven design and will probably use ribbon nickel chromium heat element material from a toaster as my heat source instead of the 240-volt stove element I was previously planning on using. The terracotta pot performs much better than the galvanized metal designs I tested in my previous videos. Thank you for watching and always be careful when handling electricity.

  1. If.youre going to fry food, why not place the pan directly on the element? I understand the need for the sand battery and baking uses but it seems better to fry that on the element

  2. The main point of this video is the sand battery itself. And how you can build a survival stove and cook your meals without any propane or firewood with a small amount of solar power. I am not a Chef and I don`t eat those meals normally, I just bought those because it was more practical for me to film. Obviously, you can cook about anything. And of course, this is basically still in the design and prototype stage.

  3. For cooking, what is the actual purpose of the sand? Seems it would be faster/better w/ just an element like a conventional oven. Or is it to show that if you are using the sand as a battery, you could also cook w/ it while it's being heated for storage?

  4. The sand gives it a crock pot effect. These are all experiments. There are many different ideas you can come up with. It will probably work without the sand as one gentleman was wondering. I am at the beginning stages of these experiments and as I said there are many different variables on designs and ideas. Thank you for your comments.
