@redpoppyranch

I found some OTT tracks and caterpillar rims for the skid steer. Started the loft in the shop.

  1. Watch out for snow packing in the inside of the tracks and binding up and causing them to over tighten , this can damage to the seals or worse. I have the same tracks and it happened twice on my machine also watch for large rocks lodging in between tires and tracks. Best steel tracks I've ever used.

  2. First of all, please don't take the following as a personal attack on you or your site. It's only intended to allow me to vent a bit in public over one of YouTube's policies:

    I pay YouTube extra money each month to be able to have ad free viewing when watching yours and other channels. I suspect that YouTube probably uses those $$ to help pay you for your videos when appropriate. While I understand your reason for promoting your sponsors, I also feel those promotions are a work-around, leaving me exposed to ads that I'm paying extra $$ each month to avoid.

    That being said, I do not expect anything to change, but want you and your sponsors to know that by using the fast forward (⏩) button on my remote, I do in fact, skip over most unwanted advertising.

  3. I thought your other tires with the chains seemed to be working fine, so not exactly sure why you needed OTT tracks. However, as a poster previously mentioned, buy the spike kit for your rubber tracks and you’ll be good. Then you can just remove the tracks just before summer and you’ll be golden. Did you ever finish hooking up the Chinese heater in the cab? If so, how does it work?

    Several times you mentioned that you hated to lose the space in your shop the apartment has taken and, made the comment you might need to build another shop. I’ve mentioned this before, but you definitely have plenty of space left in your shop to do whatever you want. It all comes down to the layout and organization.

    I have a wood shop, and everything you’d normally find in a garage after living in a house for 20 years. In the tandem area, I have cabinets mounted all along one wall with large plastic bins lined up across the entire top of the cabinets which are mostly filled with Christmas stuff. I have a 2’ deep workbench mounted along the adjoining wall, and keep a planer, large edge sander and other machines mounted to flip carts under that workbench. I then have a miter saw station, router table (mounted on a wheeled stand), along and drill press on the wall opposite the cabinets. Finally, I have a 7’ x 2’ workbench/assembly table on wheels in the center of the tandem space, and store my table saw, mounted on wheels, against one end of it.

    In the two car garage area, I have a long stationary table with drawers and shelves along one wall, with bench top machines mounted on top of the table. I also have a couple additional machines mounted on wheeled flip carts and a large bandsaw and my tool chest on one wall. On the opposite wall I have shelves, a clamp rack, dust collection unit, and a cabinet with a small space for a little wood storage. I have shelving racks mounted on the ceiling, which hold the remaining Christmas bins. I keep both cars in the garage.

    When I want to use my shop, I pull the cars out and roll everything out into the two car garage space, or I also have plenty of space to work on a car or other projects, including a portable painting booth. My two car garage with the tandem area is at least twice as small as your shop space, with the apartment! Again, if you layout your shop correctly, organize your stuff, and be smart, I know you’ll have plenty of space to do everything you need in your shop, including having a pool table and wood stove. Of course, the only way it will work is if you keep your shop clean, and keep everything in its place!

  4. You surely have had your share of snow there this winter. More I believe than in all prior years I've been watching your videos. Wow ! It seems you are getting all of the snow we are NOT getting here in Ohio along Lake Erie. We've really been lucky this winter so far. I hope you have a very slow melt when it does begin to thaw. Good luck with all of your projects.
