  1. Crazy how NO ONE is talking about holding the kid accountable and only the parents or even the teacher. Children are capable of EVIL even with good parents.

I think it's RARE but it does happen. Irresponsible he had access to a gun. But u don't even know if it was his parents gun.

He could have found it, or got it other ways.

People so quick to pass judgement.

  2. For those concerned about the child being in custody, from other reports, what that means, in this case, is that he was taken to a medical facility for psychiatric evaluation. Because he is so young, he cannot even be legally detained in juvenile justice facilities, so he's not going to be incarcerated in any kind of jail. For those who assume that the teacher did something that somehow made the shooting a reasonable reaction, she was, at the time, finishing up a lesson, saw the child pull out the gun out of his backpack, and he shot her while she was attempting to take the gun away from him. She made sure the other children in her first grade class had gotten to safety before going for help for herself, even though she was injured badly enough that she's still in critical condition, although she is improving. She's 25, so she's likely in her third year of teaching. Some of the other children in the classroom at the time are calling her a hero, as are her principal and the cops. From her hospital bed, he's also been asking whether her other students are okay after what happened. The fact that some people are so quick to assume that she may have done something that made it reasonable for one of her first graders to shoot her speaks to why schools are having a very hard time finding quality teachers anymore. If you can be shot by a six year old student you're trying to disarm and make sure your other students are safe before getting help for your own critical injuries, only to have strangers on YouTube start speculating that you did something that made the child shoot you….well, that could be discouraging to say the least. Especially given that some six year olds can become irate over things that adults, or even other children their own age, don't find worthy of that much anger and certainly not enough fury to shoot someone over them.
