Acolyte Tuesday!!!
"People ask me, "what's that song about," and I say, "well, if I could've said it in other words than are in the song, I'd've written a different song, wouldn't I?" -Elvis Costello
Jaws, Rocky and Star Wars were my major entry points (The Big Three) in film as a 10, 11,12 year old.
– 8min mark (meme worth locating)
"The Mayor in Jaws2 is the s a m e person." "PLEASE look deeper into your local elections." ◇ ~ ( worded quite similarly )
Acolyte and the Dooku stuff in Tales have really been pushing this sort of tragedy of the sincerity of the sith. I don't think I really took Palpatine's 1st sith pitch to Anakin at the Opera as his core beliefs but now it looks like he started with his understanding of the truth, "All those who gain power are afraid to lose it," but gave up and took the quick and easy path of manipulation with Padme's death. Dooku similarly now seems like he really believed Qui Gon would've agreed with him and his manipulative spilling of the beans has a hint of, "This is the craziness I'm mixed up with," and a bit of a cry for help.
I like the idea of surrendering lightsabers when leaving being voluntary but common, because I think it adds to Dooku’s character that he didn’t, and to the hubris of the Jedi that they still were so dismissive of his fall when he hadn’t followed that tradition.
Wait! What?? 😱 Ken never saw Jaws?? 😮😮😮
Shouldn't the saber be disassembled, when handed over? 🤔 Or should it be kept there until the person dies? 🤔🤔
Thank you, Joseph! Thank you, Ken! 🆕
Yeah, ki ade giving Anakin Relationship's tips, having multiple wifes on his own, that wouldn't end good 😂
Hey Force Center, loved the episode, but I have an honest question that might come off as a bit difficult. I've noticed that you all are spending a lot of time each episode lately discussing the state of the media pundit and marketing worlds, and I wonder how it is you all deal with the tension of being "part of the problem" so to speak. You all are very responsible, but isn't discussing this sort of stuff at all just adding fuel to the fire? Neither of you really like that writers and directors are making these comments and news, but then still discuss it. As well, when it comes to marketing, it feels like a little bit of a self created issue when we as deep fans devour every ad and trailer we can find to then complain about moments being spoiled. Marketing isn't really for deep core fans like us, it's for the average consumer who doesn't know there is a Star War on this month. I hope this question came off respectfully, much love for the positivity you always spread. ❤
