Thanks so much for this gem. Beecham had great understanding of, and affection for. the Russians. He had recorded The Firebird Suite in 1916, barely 5 years after it was written, and there is a superb Antar, recorded at Shepperton for a film that was never made but is now on CD. Borodin, Rimsky and Tchaikovsky are there at the beginning of his career in the studios, and he returned to them often. His Scheherazade was long considered the reference recording.
Great to have it back with a correction. Chris Goddard is an old friend and knows his stuff!
