The cry a year ago was a cheer about the VTUBER UPRISING! A celebration for ALL vtubers. Now, with the harassment, threats, doxing, much of which within the vtuber community, the uprising is over. Turn out the lights. It's a shame. Comfy became UNcomfortable.
A lot of the harassment isn't from real allies. Sure, saying you're disappointed in a streamer for playing the wizard game IS NOT harassment and is fine, because playing it shows to a certain degree that they care more for a media franchise than the lives and safety of others. But wishing terrible things upon them, doxxing them, threatening them, only alienates potential supporters of LGBTQ+ rights and makes you just as toxic as those on the far right. We can't fight fire with fire, but twitter will never understand that .
I really hope silvervale gets kicked from vshojo, playing a transphobic game, and then calling trans people freaks ain't a nice look for the group

The problem with the advice of "Ignore and move on." is that it doesn't always work for everybody. One has to figure that aside from the obvious vitriol harassment, it's probably the more personal attacks and character smears that hit the hardest to someone like Silver, whom appeared to be a streamer that just wanted to foster an open and welcoming fun space for her viewers. That's the part that has got to be the most jarring in all this, all over streaming just one specific vidja game.
The situation with silvervale and automod is 1/2 true – yes automod is currently broken, but silvervale mods were manually banning and timing people out who used the word trans. There is footage of this occurring that has not been addressed.
I agree, no one including trans people deserves to live in fear every day. All these people harassing live streamers instead of actually doing something about how trans people are treated IRL can "F" right off. You are not helping , you are painting targets on the backs of trans people for more hate. We have come to the point where the reason why trans people are asking for a boycott has been lost entirely.

I don’t think anyone deserves to get harassed and doxxed for playing a freaking game, BUT I’m honestly tired of content creators saying/doing and/or playing controversial games then acting surprised when they get big backlash. And they can’t even claim to act like they don’t know the controversy around the game since it’s all people have been ranting and raving about since it was announced. Silvervale doesn’t deserve that level of hatred but at the same time I think she should’ve taken 2 seconds to realize the internet isn’t a kind place and she was going to get tons of hate for playing that game. Lots of people already hate Vshojo just for existing, so playing that game gave them even more of a reason to dogpile bullshit hate.
As someone who falls under the trans community, this whole situation is beyond messed up. I understand the feeling of dispointment seeing creators you watch play this game but lashing out with threats and doxxing is far more messed up than the terf rhetoric jk spews. If you've participated in harassing silver or sending her threats you're actively harming the trans community, you justify transphobes in their hate. No person deserves death threats over a game. If you've harassed or threatened any creator over this you aren't a trans ally, you don't speak for me, you're just as full of hate as the transphobes. This behaviour isn't the way to go about any of this, I feel so far beyond let down by everyone over this. Do better.
Trans people have had to live in fear of being who they are and expressing their desires free of persecution. Now some losers who claim to represent them spend their time doxxing and threatening people for playing a video game in order to make them fear for their life until they either stop playing or stop existing entirely. It's truly pathetic when someone lacks so little control and power in their own life that they make it a past-time to try and instill fear and pain in other's.
