My review of Silver Axe – The Honest Elf for the PC. A very charming looking metroidvania that just got out of early access and despite some translation and language issues, it’s really fun and creative! I tried to keep it as short as possible, but hopefully you will still get the full picture.
Enjoy!

  1. I lost interest when I heard it's not fully translated to English, but it looks like I need to put it back on my Steam wishlist. I already loved the aesthetic, and that spell combo system sounds fantastic.

  2. I saw this and wanted to pick it up, but held off in the hopes that full translation comes further down the line. Looks fun otherwise and the spells look interesting.

How's level design? And how long is the game to 100% the map?

  3. Aw that's a shame about the languages changing halfway through the game I'm sure that will be fixed very soon, I really like the idea of mixing all of these spells together and all of the boss fights look really fun, 2:55 the rabbit looks so cool 😀 I will keep a look out for this game when the full English version is released, thanks Joy for another great review I hope you have an awesome day 😊

  4. i'm at the furious snow white rabbit rematch and what the fk, that guy literally has more health than ender lilly bosses and attacks faster than NKG… This game is so easy with regular enemies but the bosses spike wayyy too much. I was at this dude for 15 minutes and then he went into phase 3… oneshotting me with a barely telegraphed laser beam… I think i actually hate this game lol

  5. silver axe really hurt itself but coming out of early access without the english translation, and then it utterly doomed itself to complete obscurity when it jumped on the post oct 2022 steam regional pricing. There are less than 50 people outside china who have bought this game. A reminder to all not to go out of early access until you really are finished, and to not trust a lazy and greedy corporation with the pricing of your game.
