It is interesting to note that Russia is now allowing gas and oil companies to raise their own private armed forces. This is because the Russian state cannot defend the oil and gas installations itself. Whether this will help at all is open to question but what it does help is the attempt to deflect anger against the state and shift the blame for continued damage onto the oil and gas sectors themselves. It is also interesting that the US is horrified that such damage is being done, not merely because it has implications for the world oil price but also because it would appear to undermine whatever deal the US is cooking up behind the scenes with Russia, of which the failure to provide further US support to Ukraine could well be an integral part.
Where does he think the extra ammunition will come from? People get the idea you can throw money at a problem and shells and soldiers to appear out of thin air.

Thank you for your report on this issue, I see it exactly like this. Ukraine has a right to defend itself and we in the western democracies must help it to win and to be restored and respected.
"Ukranians spent 4 Billion on cigarettes every year instead of on arms".. But Cigarette Vs Defence spending logical thinking is a big ask of a population. It is an illogical equation that astounds me as a non-smoker, but affects, or has affected, the populations of most European states. Most smokers are in denial about what £10 a-day adds up to in a year. But how much is tax? In UK, guessing here, it must be about 75% or more of sale price.. So who's to blame for lack of adequate defence spending? Democratic votes are often won by promising better health care, better education, better crime prevention, more money in our pockets.. Who's gonna win an election arguing that we should spend more money on arms that might end-up going rusty in a wooden box? Putin is predictable now, but remember; he was saying he would not invade Ukraine. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Knowing Russians, and knowing smokers, they'd probably surrender in droves if they were guaranteed health, food, and cigarettes. I really do wonder what would happen if the Ukrainian army dropped huge packets of duty-free cigarrettes in the Russian tank turrets with a note saying "We just saved your life, we love you, brothers and sisters, this is not your war". I've heard that Zalenski has a sence of humour, as does Konstantin Kisin, who is well-worth a listen.. Kisin and Zalenski were both born as native Russian speakers (I believe). They could easily put together a Russian State Government. (RNG? Ruski Nationalski Governmentski?) and drag the Russian People in front of a democratic mirror by the scruff of the neck.. with humour!
I am totally in agreement with you Johnathon in all you point out about the need for US & Europe to fully support Ukraine in all they need. I am sure there are many machinations and excuses for not doing this or that .. I can't get my maga friends to look at any video like yours. They are 💯 % committed to Trump and the anti abortion policies that Republicans and especially Trump lovers embrace. They will not consider Democrat ideas because those must come from the devil. 9th of May can not be considered a Victory Day but a Day of Mourning for All the Suffering, the millions of disabled people and the millions of Dead young boys on every side of the Frontline. This Day is a Day of Human Tragedy exactly like the 8th of May 1945. In this war like in any other war Suffering was brought on many families and many young boys were maimed or dead. What is here so victorious. Do not celebrate human Stupidity which practically like in most of the conflicts has in the end unfortunately the Upper Hand. There is no glory in killing others,but there is glory to be found in helping others and to live in harmony with our Biosphere. Look at the war not as humans do who divide us in Victors and Loosers , but look at the war as Our Father in Heaven does who cries over its children who were injured and the joy of life was taken from them and the millions of Dead boys of any Nation who were taken from and replaced with a mortuary Stone. We do not need weapons but more Love in our hearts for the people who surround us and for our environment. May the Lord bless and keep you ALL.
Can someone please define what victory for Ukraine looks like? Does victory mean Ukraine defeats Russia and they take back Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, and Zaporizhzhya Oblasts? What about Crimea? Does Ukraine eject every single Russian from Crimea? I am trying to understand as best as I can how Ukraine wins a war of attrition against Russia.
If Humanity continues like this then WWIII will be unavoidable and humanity will be doomed, but the Biosphere will recover and flourish again as it did in ancient times.

I'm just here to inform that the BBC just claimed Russia has lost 50 000 soldiers during the past two years. British intelligence said a month ago the figure was 355 000 and Ukraine claims they have killed 500 000.
Who is not being truthful and what else are they not being truthful about…

Since 3month, yet predicted by Jake Broe, it was forseeable, that in the case of strong undersupply with weapons/ammo by western countries Ukraine would go this way. And now it is not absolutely sure, but likely, that Israel may strike back to Iran in a moderate, middle strong way, hoping, not to anger too much their moderate arab neighbours, who helped against the iranian attack. And both may reduce oil exports and may rise oil price, making money pockets emptier, but helping to reduce CO2.
Johnathan, please explain why destroying oil consuming refineries in Russia increase crude oil price. Even increase of refined products are questionable because world wide there are enough refinery capacities.
