Unable to break the so-called deadlock on the frontlines of the conventional war, Ukraine is engaging in ‘smart warfare’ to attack the enemy’s oil and gas supply lines. Over the past three weeks, Ukraine has wreaked havoc with Russia’s energy infrastructure. Soon after the new year, someone attached explosives to train carriages in the Urals city of Nizhny Tagil. A blast took place next to facilities owned by Gazprom Neft, the country’s third biggest oil producer. Next, a kamikaze drone crashed into an oil depot in the Oryol region.
On 18 January, another oil terminal, in St Petersburg – Vladimir Putin’s home city – came under attack. It was the first time since the invasion in February 2022 that unmanned aerial vehicles had reached the Leningrad region. There was more to come. A large-scale fire broke out at an oil depot in the town of Klintsy, not far from Belarus and Ukraine.

I didn’t see Nedezhdin’s actual platform as any different from Putin’s: A ceasefire (rest and re-arm?), keep all occupied territories including Dinbas and Crimea, , a soft landing for Putin, Yeltsin style, with no accountability, no war crimes trials, the Siloviki still firmly in place. I see him as a modern day Medvedev more than anything else. I see him as a Liberal in name only. Someone the West can bargaIn with in clear conscience because he isn’t accused of genocide. In any case, the signatures for him are currently being questioned, so even that little bit of a show of support was too threatening to Putin.

I would have hoped that long before now that replenishment purchase orders & associated production orders would have been placed and that materials are already being delivered if not then that is disgrace. Talk about setting up to fail!
Putin tried to take out Kiev to remove the government. This war IS about land grab.
If the gas fields in eastern Ukraine are opened up, GAZPROM and Putin would be in big trouble.
The Americans are on the fence, Putin could turn them by allowing them accsee to the oil fields there.
So, the real question is why are these energy reserves now worth killing millions of people over?

Russia is propagandizing entrenched poor communities in America to get them to demand(and vote for) “keeping money in U.S. rather than sending it to Ukraine”.

i bet Putin is Trump's role model and hero in many ways. 🙂 not even joking here, or just going for a quick bash at the poor guy… it really seems like he would love to be Putin or more Putin-like, to be acknowledged and accepted by him if at all possible, and would probably be very open to doing basically anything the guy asked him to help him out. that's extremely concerning. i seem to be one of the few people who remembers Trump literally saying "Putin says it was not him. if he says it was not him, then i don't see any reason to believe was him, i mean it was not him" – and i think that was not a gaffe but a slip of the tongue lol. :/

The Ukrainian strikes against infrastructure are a result of failing ammo supplies. They have had to adjust strategy, What did people think they would do ? Give up ? Ukraine will win this war one way or another.
