  1. In the original the dead body that sits befor the TV was James's model. Actually, all the dead bodies that could be found in the game were him. It's added so much to the feel of a nightmare and hallucination from the game. But in the remake it's just some body covered with a bedshit.

  2. Isn’t it interesting how they skipped RE1 & remade RE2, & now SH was skipped for a SH2 remake as well. & both are great remakes, as well as incredibly similar in terms of the remake is approached? Stylistically, level design, gameplay. Watch them do SH3 remake next & it be rushed & short

  3. As good as the remake is, the original was much more impressive for it's time, compared to other games released the same year very few could stand a chance against it in terms of visuals and sound.

The remake in the other hand, looks and sounds really good, but not as impressive when compared to other current gen games.

Tbh, putting a PS2 game and a PS5 game side by side and having the PS2 one still keep it's charm is really impressive, remake obviously looks better, but the original doesn't look bad at all considering it's age.

And let's give it the credit it deserves, all the qualities the remake has in terms of atmosphere and visual identity are thanks to the original, and it doesn't always do it justice despite some very noticeable improvements.

  4. it’s funny because this isn’t the “W” that most people think. Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition can run on any PC, potatoes or otherwise, but if you don’t have an RTX3080 minimum for SH2R you’re out of luck.

the remake is good but it’s far from superior to the original.

  5. Oh no, they turned it into a "backpedal shooter?" I hope not, you wouldn't remove the squares from a chess board just to give the game more freedom. This will not be even half as scary as the original.

  6. As loyal as the Remake is, you cannot deny there's changes in athmosphere.
    4:05 , 5:31 , 7:29 , 10:55 , 11:35 .
These go beyond graphical fidelity, it's an aesthetic choice. The fog is less opressive, (14:28 , 14:49 ) and generally visuals are less dark, gritty and monochromatic.
In the original Silent Hill felt like a dream place, it did not feel like part of reality. While in the Remake, Silent Hill feels like a haunted, abandoned town, yet it still feels 'part of reality'.

This doesn't mean it's worse, simply that it's a different 'vibe'. It's important to acknowledge that.
