Shrouded Destiny: A Star Wars Long Tale – Fan Production (Part I) 4K

This is the first installment of three of the world’s biggest Star Wars fan film!

More than 400 volunteers have actively contributed to the completion of the work that was produced for less than 1% of the budget of a single episode of “The Mandalorian”!

April 3rd of 2017 was the first enquiry for crew members for the Test Scene (https://youtu.be/MB72G7JdW-I) that was released on July 5th of 2018.

More than 30 volunteers helped create that work, which convinced the myriad of people to join for the bigger episode!

A trailer was released on May 4th of 2020 (https://youtu.be/qk5Z67Gq10I) during the beginning of the Pandemic and from then on, it was a long and grueling reshuffling of the post production effort that stretched over more than 2½ years.

Leave your thoughts and comments below. The episode lives through the engagement you produce.

Thank you to all of the fans who have followed the journey of Shrouded Destiny for so long.

We hope to make many more fans along the way!

Please watch the credits until the end. There’s no post-credits scene or anything, but these people have worked with great diligence and conviction in quite uncertain times for a dream. Let their names be seen. And the music heard.

This work is in no way shape or form affiliated to Disney or Lucasfilm. This is a non-profit fan film made for the Star Wars fans of the world!

With love,

Shahbaz Sarwar & the global Shrouded Destiny team!

  1. This fan film is amazing; somehow I felt Mikkelsens characets is between Ewan's Obi-Wan Kenobi and Alec's old Ben Kenobi. Maybe a bit more grey; but its quite a new interpretation of ruge Jedi.
My advise is, that you should change this Thumbnail, it wont attract many attention; make a new one, maybe with Mikkelsen on it. Btw I would love to see some behind the scenes footage guys!

  2. Sadly disappointed about this first part, compared to the teaser of the lightsaber battle we had teased long ago. Not that I only want lightsaber combat, but It felt more like Star Wars, than this Tavern Drama.
In my oppinion, lazy manuscript and dialog. Generally it didn't like a feel Star Wars show, but more like it's own Sci Fi universe. Some many sentences and objects pulled me away from this make belief universe, into my own reality, time and time again.
BUT, nonetheless, much hard work and dedication has gone into this project, and THAT you can feel. As a stand alone sci fi piece, it's entertaining to watch. It just didn't feel like "The Worlds biggest Star Wars fan film".

    Here are some more thoughts.

I lacked context, as to why the bounty hunter ditched the Jedi…
Why was the Jedi in a escape pod in the first place?
Electronics, and designs of the interior star ships, didn't feel star wars like (Because of rights?)
The jedi master on the holocom, could track them in hyperspace? since he new they were close to their target?
How does our bounty hunter know, that the drunk alien is offworlder?
"maybe i'm lucky and i'm just the one odd "fish out of water" I encounter here"? This line does not make sense. Does he encounter himself?
Species in the bar, felt more Star Trek, urecognizeable than Star Wars.
Laser blast effects felt more Star Trek than Star Wars
That big alien, looked more like a LARP monster. I didn't believe it was real.
I dislike when real life statements or things, are used in a fantasy universe.. the fashion police sentence, pulls me away from this universe, into my own…breaking the fourth wall.
Is war the only fights you can have in this universe?

I liked the insight in how a Jedi Mind trick works, but it's hard for me to believe that our hero, and an entire bar of murderes are weak minded?

  3. Hmm… I have mixed feelings about this one. Some of the opening shots confused me a bit… for a short while I thought I was watching BSG and the close ups proved this is a low budget video. You could have tried to hide that. On the other hand, the dialogue with Lars Mikkelsen is superb and some of the best acting I have seen for a looong time! That man is crazy!

  4. A fantastic creation indeed and huge talent among all the people in this project! The sets, characters, dialogue and tension building between the hunter and the hunted, gunfight coreography, the little things (wonder what part the little mechanical spider might or might not play in this). The Force is strong in this…

  5. I cannot wait for Part 2. You guys went all out with the prosthetics for the aliens, the special effects were the best I've seen from a fan project, and the leads were fantastic. On top of that, it just really FELT like Star Wars, which is probably the most difficult thing to achieve. Bravo!

  6. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH IT ON A BIG SCREEN PEOPLE! I waited to sit down and take the time to watch on my TV instead of my phone or computer screen. Best idea, best viewing experience. If I could watch it in a theater, that's the only way it could have been better. Great job guys, I can't wait for the next part!
