Should You Play Elden Ring? (Review)

I’ve spent the past week playing Elden Ring and have enjoyed practically every single moment. Let’s dive in and discuss what and why I like this game so much.

Elden Ring Info For The Algo:
THE NEW FANTASY ACTION RPG.
Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.

• A Vast World Full of Excitement
A vast world where open fields with a variety of situations and huge dungeons with complex and three-dimensional designs are seamlessly connected. As you explore, the joy of discovering unknown and overwhelming threats await you, leading to a high sense of accomplishment.

• Create your Own Character
In addition to customizing the appearance of your character, you can freely combine the weapons, armor, and magic that you equip. You can develop your character according to your play style, such as increasing your muscle strength to become a strong warrior, or mastering magic.

• An Epic Drama Born from a Myth
A multilayered story told in fragments. An epic drama in which the various thoughts of the characters intersect in the Lands Between.

• Unique Online Play that Loosely Connects You to Others
In addition to multiplayer, where you can directly connect with other players and travel together, the game supports a unique asynchronous online element that allows you to feel the presence of others.

  1. That's a strange question 😛 Will listen… Never played the souls-like games, but I feel ready!
( unplayed games in my Steam Library disagree, but anyhow )
    – I am still trying to finish exploring all of Skyrim 😛

  2. Can anyone tell me if the dungeon are a complete maze like darksouls or if it's actually possible to figure out what to do without a walkthrough? I could never get into darksoul cause I was always getting lost and frustrated. I like the difficulty, but I dont like wasting my time

  3. I could never get into the souls series or even bloodborne (the main death mechanic is the reason why, though I liked sekiro before the game refused to recognize my controller anymore), but I still pre-ordered Elden Ring because I still think it's worth giving a shot as I love the idea of the game.

  5. Nice review Force. Even tho you're not telling me anything new, you always find a way to be different from other reviews I've watched about any specific game. Thanks for your high quality content.

  6. Never played a DS game. How does the combat work? Do you have skills? Is it a single button combo system? Does every weapon have the same damage? How many attack buttons do you have? It's impossible to get these basic answers from any of Elden Ring review videos on YT, it's mind blowing.

  7. Would be super cool if they had the switch weapons like bloodborne in the game. The sword/hammer idea was so cool.

Can't wait to play, just need the buster sword from berserk and I'll be happy.

  8. Pretty Off Topic, but I wanted to ask you, Force, if you know about The "Dark Souls: Role Playing Game" from SteamForged? Not sure if you're into D&D style adventures in your free time or you only play video games. It launches in May with a beautiful book and captures the essence and feel of Dark Souls (NPCs, monsters, loot, bosses, traps, tough scenarios etc.) in a D&D 5e style gameplay and rules (with some modifications), however in D&D you have many ways to prevent death, as it's generally frowned upon. In Dark Souls you don't. Death is part of the campaign. You respawn at the bonfire and use what you've learned to defeat the encounter, hopefully, on your 2nd try. And of course you lose your Souls (XP). Humanity will also be in apparently. Swapping weapons, using flasks is reminiscent of Dark Souls. Of course you can do this in 2 players: 1 DM and 1 Character or many friends that will hopefully aid you in combat and getting past puzzles and traps 🙂 Just don't wipe, because the enemies will respawn.
I'll be keeping an eye out. They will also be offering PDFs so maybe I can play on Tabletop Simulator or another D&D helper platform online (like Roll 20). I've only seen a sponsored stream with people playing it before release and it is awesome.
Long story short: If you like the Souls Games, if you like to have a Cool Book in your Bookcase and especially if you like Tabletop Role Playing Games, give this one a try 😉
And cheers for the great video, as always 😀

  9. I would so love to play it. But I have enough self-understanding to know that it would be too hard/frustrating for me. I have enough stress at work, I don't need to pull that into my gaming life, lol

  10. Started playing and it’s definitely hard cause I don’t play souls games usually. One thing I don’t like is it feels like you’re pushed into having to use stealth or you’ll get wrecked but I’d rather be able to just jump in aggressively

  12. I tried getting a refund but I spent too long trying to piece together its awful control system so I was denied. The game is not hard!!!! the shitty systems make the game hard!!!! It's a cheap console port. The game runs like crap on PC, has seizure issues with lighting/fire, controls are absolutely garbage, in complete (you are literally lacking keybinds to moves, items, actions). Combat input response times are a big issue. Sometimes the game flat out refuses to let you attack. When targeting the game actually takes control of your camera and you are locked out until you manage to deselect a target. targeting has its own massive issues. They did everything right except the largest part of the game. Character control!

  13. The game looks soo bad on my PS5 out of all next gen standards and expectations, Demons Souls for PS5 is far better looking, can't stand Elden Ring's look especially buildings and it's repetitive textures and proportions as person from art school trained for viewing cant look at it 5-6 minutes, start it and must turn off that ugliest popular game I'm feeling CHEATED by uneducated YouTubers and reviewers which do not respect 2022 standards and our free time
