Should We Worry About Alien Germs From Mars? #shorts

NASA is planning to bring rocks from Mars to Earth.

The space agency has asked for the publicโ€™s opinion on its plan, but some scientists warn that Martian samples could hold alien germs.

Others think thereโ€™s a very low probability that anything is living on the surface of Mars.

The plan to retrieve Mars rocks is still a long way off, sometime in the early 2030s. And of course, NASA isnโ€™t disregarding the danger.

  1. I remember reading once that a scientist said it probably wouldnโ€™t be an issue because of life grew somewhere else, it would be so different and not know how to infect life on earth. Maybe it doesnโ€™t recognize dna or the way cells are on earth etc. wonder how true that would be.

  2. I'm in my mid 70s with little time left. I hope I can live long enough when humans land and return from Mars. Better Alpha Centauri but that's wishing for too much. I envy kids of today only because they just might witness the discovery of alien life. I wonder if I stuff myself in the fridge….

  3. My vote is no. Perhaps it's best to salvage Martian rocks in stages ie Mars to the moon; moon to the space station; space station to earth. On the space station it is possible to determine whether humans become ill after exposure to Martian elements. If all space station personnel survive without adverse effects humans are home free.

  5. I believe we used to live on mars. It becomes over populated and becuase of our greedy nature we destroyed the mars atmosphere just like how we almost destroyed Earth's atmosphere.๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously tho just think about it. Scientist found water beneath mars surface, it was only covered up by Mars' crust because the atmosphere is almost depleted. I really believe we could live again on mars if we somehow find a way to restore mars' atmosphere.

  6. It would be of a huge problem if those germs started a pandemic, we would have to go all the way back to Mars again and bring a huge ton of those germ infested rocks back to create a vaccine for that.
