  1. The game looks cute, but it looks like there are not a lot of things going on. I feel like, with the current mechanics, I will grow easily bored with the game.

I will have to wait for the stretch goals or maybe even after the game gets released before deciding whether or not I should get it.

  2. I like the animal idea, hope they focus more on that because it's the only thing that makes them stand out. Otherwise it's just another farming game. I've tried some of their other games and other than Solarpunk which I might buy when it's coming out (I tried the demo) the rest of their stuff were pretty meh tbh. I didn't even realize all of those games were by them because they're all kinda different. I'll wait for you to review it when it's out 😂

  3. Hmmm…I feel bad for saying this but I want us to have higher standards for farming games and live sim games. My time at sandrock was amazing, it had social events, interactive holidays, so many building and crafting thing to do and places to explore my entire playthrough. Tons of interactions and I was never bored.

I want all farming sims to have that. Coral island was pretty..but…I'm disappointed with that too. And in a year, after 'release' they are adding what was alread supposed to be there, and stuff sandrock has and did better, and faster.

Cozy games doesn't mean we should be bored. And the repetitive gets boring fast. They need to rely on story, social activities, good characters and new events happening over time WHILE the repetitive actions are going, and add new things to those actions and add new things to do as time progresses until a somewhat of an end game maybe over a course of years.

I don't know. Life/sim farming sims are my favorite, but action games, rpgs, are always improving and competing. I want the same for life sims.

I like the art, I like the animation, but there needs to be more happening. Games like this rely on social aspects even more so if there isn't much to do. So, you sell stuff in a store, haggle prices like reccetear, and then you farm which can get tedious quickly. is that all you can do? It feels more lik a simple tycoon game than a sim. It needs more going on, for me at least. it looks cute though.

  4. I'm a massive stardew fan like obsessed but I think people were being weird about the name. Just cuz it used dew in the title means nothing :/
The game itself looks…fine I'm not the biggest fan of the graphics it gives me Fae farm vibes. I think I'll only get it if it has character customization I'm kinda tired of not being able to rep myself in some of these cozy titles

  5. Thanks for talking about this game. I was hoping you would. I think this is the first time I've seen a farming game with a shop mechanic! That's what interests me about this game. So I don't understand how people can say there is nothing new here. The forest folk and animals look cute too.

I'm thinking of backing this but I want to see the stretch goals.

  6. Beasties, harvest life are awful games. The sorcery game was meh same with stranded sails. Lou lagoon is a amazing looking game but this now makes like 3 games they currently have or had on Kickstarter that arent even out yet. No shot im giving money until the product is released

  7. It's funny, just a few days ago I picked up Garden Paws on steam after I couldn't bare the buggy but enjoyable experience on the switch anymore lol! I can definitely see the influence but actually even more so from Grow: Song of the Evertree, even though they didn't mention it. Until now I'm not sure if it's a game I'd play for hour-long sessions, BUT it looks like a small enjoyable game to come back to once in a while for shorter play sessions imo! I'll keep watching it for now

  8. I'm a little tired of the fact that almost many new farming games have a cute chibi(baby) style like a animal crossing.I don't mean that it's bad, I just want something more serious, qrim, unique.(My friend jokingly asked me maybe I wanted a dark souls farming game)

  9. Them calling this stardew island is a bit underhanded. It gives the impression that they are hoping people looking for stardew valley will buy their game by mistake.

It's one thing to take inspiration from other games, but at least come up with a unique game title.

  10. This is interesting, honestly the fact it may be a simpler farming game is more enticing to me than all the options other games give.

Not to big a fan of placing building anywhere you want/decorating or customized characters(probably why I didn't like games like My time at Sandrock and Stardew isn't the top farming game to me); I don't immerse myself as the character as I find it takes away from the impact of story telling and unique + memorable main characters but that's just my opinion. HM64 is my life blood and there's basically no customization there if that helps others understand.

  11. I would be very skeptical for switch release. I'm still waiting for Coral Island for switch from the Kickstarter campaign. Had I known that the switch version would be a year+ after everyone else gets it I wouldn't have chosen that option.

  12. Rokaplay have a really annoying habit of publishing unfinished games and doing the bare minimal to finish them. The fact this is yet another game on kickstarter is a tribute to how much success they've had previously. I recommend avoiding ANY company which has had multiple projects on kickstarter – it's supposed to be a starting point, not a scammy begging bowl and sadly – that's what Kickstarter has become.
On the game that has been shown, it looks like a dodgy AI cash in on story of seasons/older harvest moon games.

  13. Hey Josh,

If you watch the steam website there is a video and a release date. Planned for Q2 2024 If Steam Page is right. You said that there is no timeline on the Kickstarter page, but I found the date on steam actually!
For me I bought the base game on Kickstarter. I don't need early access or alpha for this but seems cozy and I play nearly every cozy game 🙂
Always watching your videos! Keep it up and have a nice day!

  14. I had this one bookmarked for the kickstarter but when I got the email I was like "what game is this again?" watch the trailer and read the points and it really looks like it doesn't add anything to the genre. I think I'll wait for full release to decide if I'm getting it but it does appear novel enough to support it.

Also, if there's no character customization (still watching the video as I comment this) that would be a big bummer. It's 2024… to me that's the bare minimum especially for this genre.

  15. I really liked the shop running mini game in Rune Factory 4 and I love Reccetear, but I feel like I'll have to see what other features might be in the game, or how the writing is. I'll absolutely play small, super indie games if there's unique features or really engaging writing – one of the main reasons I fell in love with Recettear.

This game looks solid and I do wish them the best, I think it's good that they're focusing so much on a solid foundation instead of over-promising extra features. But for me personally, I'm not sold quite yet.

  16. I'm not the original source for this one, but I recall reading a Reddit thread on this game and one person sharing their experiences with backing a game from the same company – it was basically red flags (they didn't deliver the game if I recall?) so would advise to be wary on this one and do some more research on the game dev's previous track record.
