Should Minnesota Vikings blow the whole thing up?

Alex Boone is NOT happy about the Minnesota Vikings’ playoff loss to the New York Giants. He tees off on Kevin O’Connell, Kirk Cousins, the entire defense and more. Then, Boone’s former teammate Jeremiah Sirles makes a surprise appearance to help explain why the Vikings should consider a full rebuild! At the 30:00 mark, Boone and Sirles break down 10 key plays — including the infamous 4th-and-8 — from Vikings-Giants.

  1. Guys chill. I know emotions are running high after the loss. But blow up a team that won 13 games and the division ( 1st time in 5 years) , with the worst D in the league.. Cmon man. I get Declan with his anti Viking..Viking fanship, but expected more from Boone. Re- tool the D and we are back in the hunt again.

  2. It was good to hear Booney state the obvious many of us have also realized – that the Vikes have looked the 2nd half of the season like a team that is just trying to "survive," and playing somewhat scared. I am hoping for some aging/overpaid roster adjustments, the DC change, and KOC becoming more aggressive and creative with his play-calling in (2.0) 2023. Great show, and analysis fellas.

  3. Step 1 Tear down US Bank and resurrect Metropolitan stadium!
Step 2 this draft even though we don’t have very many picks. Start getting in young tough hard nose players that as randy says “has MOXEY” that knows How to play OUTDOORS, ON GRASS, IN THE COLD, ANY CLIMATE, ANY ENVIRONMENT!
Step 3 Enjoy a Surly Beer
Step 4 Chant SKOL Non stop
    Step 5 WIN!

  4. This episode was a blast! I love the film breakdown so much, and adding bonus analysis from JS made it even better than normal. I wish our interior linemen would go to Boone's camp, and learn from these 2 guys. If he's still there in the 3rd, draft our Gopher center please 🙂

  5. So after watching and listening to 2 educated football minds (and Mackey 😂) The core of most blame online is Cousins and the D (valid) BUT, the constant (even on successful Vikings plays) is the O-line is still garbage. So at what point do they replace the O-line coach? And why doesn't KOC see the nuances like Boone and co. does? i.e. the way the Giants telegraphed their D scheme?

  6. If it's one person we restructure is Harrison. Even then I prefer him and all the other vets like thielen, Kendricks, etc to be gone. We need to get younger completely.
Hopefully this is the last season of kirk and we finally get our QB of the future and rebuild.
What I'm afraid of happening is a Kirk extension and we will never win a Super Bowl with him at qb which will get Jefferson even more pissed, eventually Jefferson either forcing his way out of Minnesota or completely gone after the massive contract extension we plan to give him. At that point he'd already have secured the bag and would want to go to a actual superbowl contending team. It seems to be that the wilf's only care about being competent and they don't know what it actually takes to win a Super Bowl. A Super Bowl team consists of some sort of rebuild and more often that not starts especially at the qb position. If the wilf's can't look to sacrifice a couple years to rebuild this team that will have them as actual superbowl contenders and better off in the future they aren't the right owners. Kwesi and KOC need to get this right without the wilf's getting in the way.

  7. Thank you Jeremiah Alex for speaking the 100% TRUTH. We should never have taken the approach we did this past off-season. If we ever want a CHANCE to maybe become a TRUE Championship contender, we're gonna need to start over from ground up, and become a younger/deeper/more physical and faster team, with either a serviceable cheap/rookie scale QB, or we've gotta hope we find a once-in-a-generatiin elite QB who deserves 17% of the cap.

  8. The thing that needs to be said about the difference in the Buffalo 4th down throw and the playoff throw, is that the Buffalo play came right after the two minute warning so Kirk was on the sideline talking to KOC and I would bet anything KOC made it clear to Kirk to throw beyond the sticks. The playoff game KOC only had like 20-25 seconds to talk to Kirk before the headset goes out. I’m positive that had we had a timeout or if the giants took a timeout in that spot KOC would have made it clear to throw beyond the sticks. That’s the problem with Kirk is he doesn’t process fast enough.

  9. Okay I'm not trying to start no sh*t, but in terms of chemistry and the balance of unique expertise each of you bring to the table, this is a fantastic broadcasting trifecta! It's giving uplifting buddy-comedy vibes even though the topic is difficult, &I could listen to y'all podcast together every day! 🤩 (((maybe this could be a new show idkimjustsayinthinkaboutit 👀)))

  10. What makes Justin Herbert a monster? I hate that he gets praised when he just made the playoffs for his first time and just let a 27-0 comeback happen. He gets praised for stats just like Kirk did and we hated that

  11. Cousins fooled us all season. Never again. He brought us all back to reality. He is a loser. Period. If the vikings extend him again, l will stop watching the vikings. Cousins will never be a superbowl quarterback.

I don't think the vikings have to blow the whole thing up. They just need to get rid of all the players that are not earning their salaries: Cousins, Kendricks, H. Smith, Hicks, Cook, l. Smith, Z. Smith, C. Sullivan, etc…
Kwesi needs to make moves to bring player production in line with salaries. He also needs to build a dominant offensive line and get a winning quarterback first and foremost.

It's too bad that KOC wasn't as creative all year as the lions and giants offenses were.

  12. :most basic football language, that even 95% of casuals would understabd is used by Boone (or Sirles in this episode):
:pedoPhil's eyes get as big as they get when he sees a boy <5yrs old at the park: :pedoPhil hits the "FOOTBALL" sound on the board: Come the fuck on 🙄🤦🏿‍♂

  13. The quickest way to turn around the Viking's is to trade Kirk Cousins for whatever they can get and trade Justin Jefferson hopefully getting a serious haul for Jefferson. This would free up 30 million in cap space and give the Vikings multiple draft picks for at least two years allowing them to rebuild their roster.
